Pick-up Instructions

The National - Chiangmai International Airport car rental location is in terminal

You can walk to the counter of National - Chiangmai International Airport car rental.

The car rental counter is near the entrance to the arrival lounge on the first floor of the airport. It has a clear "car rental" sign and it takes you 5 minutes to walk to the counter. The out-of- hour service fee is 428 THB and there will be staffs showing how to pickup or return cars .

Drop-off Instructions

A sign of "rental car return" is usually seen next to the road near the store parking lot and you can be guided to the corresponding parking lot for returning. Then you can walk back to the airport. The main driver and any additional drivers must provide a full physical driving licence with no major endorsements. The license should be held for at least 1 year(s).

For foreign renters, you need to bring:

Please note that an International Driving Permit (IDP) is only a translation. You must present your original driving licence together with the original IDP at the counter — photocopies or scanned copies are not accepted.

National gave me a poor car which broken left sound speaker and hided it by setup the sound only on the right speaker. Moreover, inside the car is not clean. There any many stain areas on the car seats. After I picked the car for five minutes, I found out the sound issue and call back to Nation. However, they said that they have only this car for me without any compensation so I have no choice to use that car on the first day and told staff to contact me on the day after, if they have other cars (I have no idea why they have only 1 car left). On the next day, they to me to drive back to change a new car (I stayed > 25 km from the airport). After a long negotiation, the staff seem ok to deliver the new car for me. However, I need to wait for 1.5 hours to get the car (which I think normally it should take < 30 mins).
