When picking up the vehicle, you must present both the original driver's license and the Japanese translation. The translation can be issued by JAF, the Japanese Embassy/Consulate General in Japan, or (for Taiwan driver's license users only) Taiwan's Motor Vehicle Supervision Offices.
If you use an IDP issued in the Philippines to pick up a rental car, you must also bring your Philippine passport and Philippine driver's license.
