Pick-up Instructions

Our office is located on Level 4 of the Grand Hyatt Carpark, walk towards to the main entrance of the hotel and on your left there is a elevator that will take you to the office in the carpark.

Drop-off Instructions

When returning your vehicle the entrance to the Grand Hyatt carpark is via Russell Street or Flinders Lane (depending on the direction you are travelling) and follow the signs to one of the dedicated East Coast Car Rentals carpark spaces.

They didn’t take clear car photos and set me in trap to at a wind screen chip but it was present when we received the car. They charged me $1000 deposit and didn’t refund it to me yet after I show them the clear pics when we received the car. I am still wait for deposit refund. Very Frustrating.

The rented car performed reliably, had good fuel efficiency, and the interior was clean and tidy. The rental service was friendly, the procedures were quick, and the pick-up and drop-off processes were smooth. The only suggestion is that the pick-up location in an underground garage was not ideal. Overall, it was a satisfying car rental experience.

I read many reviews before and found mixed opinions about East Coast, which made me hesitant to choose this rental company. For instance, people mentioned that the cars are old, the staff provides poor service, and they push for insurance sales, etc. In the end, I chose the Collins St. location based on its convenience. After picking up the car, I felt confident in my choice! We arrived half an hour late, greeted the staff, and the lady was very courteous, possibly because it was close to the end of her shift, so there was no line. Since I didn't have the printed documents, I asked if electronic versions were acceptable. The lady said I could email them, which was very convenient. The pickup area was just outside in the parking garage, and the car was quite new. The lady showed us the car and explained how to pick up, return, refill gas, etc., and the process was very smooth! After driving the car for a few days, I found it to be very fuel-efficient, my first time driving a hybrid. On the return day, I refueled for $28. I'm not sure about other locations, but I highly recommend the East Coast Collins St. branch!

The service was enthusiastic and detailed. They carefully explained the vehicle's condition and usage tips. During the return process, the inspection was quite thorough. Later, they sent an email with a detailed explanation of the inspection results, including photos of various parts of the vehicle—there were dozens of them, which felt a bit excessive.

A small thing – I couldn't find the control for the petrol tank door. The staff member at the petrol station found it for me. During the journey, I turned the radio on. Then I decided I didn't want it after all. But there was no way I could find to turn it off. Also I didn't see any cruise control. I see this as essential for country driving.
