Everything was great, the whole process went really smoothly.

It was okay overall, just not the car model I really wanted.

Walked up to the rental counter and got the car right away. The vehicle was clean and everything was in great condition. Drop-off was quick and smooth with no issues at all.

They did try to upsell insurance, but for peace of mind I took the €20/day collision coverage and it was fine. They even upgraded me for free to an Audi A3 wagon, which I was really happy with. The car was very new and in great condition. The pickup lot is a short walk from the main office, but the directions from the rental company were very clear and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Service was prompt, plenty of car options to choose from, and communication throughout was smooth and easy.

We had the car for quite a long trip, 27 days in total. The first one they gave us had an issue with the AC, but as soon as we got to the branch they swapped it out for a new car very quickly.

Europcar’s service was really solid – they didn’t push any upsells, and the car I got had only about 5,000 km on it. Returning the car was easy too: just park it in the designated area and hand the keys to the staff.

I booked a Golf but got a brand-new VW Tiguan instead and loved it. Super satisfied overall. Picking up and returning the car near the train stations was really convenient and easy to find, and there was no extra fee for picking up in Geneva and dropping off in Zurich.

Service really depends on who you get. At the Europcar counter in Warsaw airport, the first day we had this long-haired guy—service was just so-so, and he kept trying to add extra charges for everything. The second day we got a short-haired guy who looked sharp, handled everything quickly, didn’t add any extra fees, and patiently answered my questions about whether all our luggage would fit. Super efficient!

Staff were really nice, but they wouldn’t refund the unused days when I returned the car early.

They only charged a small deposit and refunded it really quickly after I returned the car—got it back within a few days. The staff checked the car and confirmed everything was fine in no time.

Honestly, I’ve rented cars all over the world, from regular taxis to self-drive, and Europe has been the best experience by far. The U.S. and Mexico were the worst—different car than what I booked and extra charges on top. But Italy, especially Sicily, was absolutely amazing! Highly recommend it to anyone planning a self-drive trip.
