Europcar Car Rental with Van

When checking Google reviews, I noticed many people mentioned long waiting times to pick up a car at the airport. I arrived at the airport around 5:30, and fortunately, there was no queue. The staff checked my documents fairly quickly. After confirming everything, they directed me to a specific parking spot to pick up the car. The signs were large and easy to locate.

It's an established brand and pretty good. There were a lot of people, but everything was well-organized.

I will continue to choose Europcar.

So easy to use for a car rental

Initially, they gave me a Q3, which I said was too small, so they switched it to a Tiguan. They recommended I purchase insurance, but I declined. The car had minor scratches, so I recorded a video of the car beforehand. During the return, they did a simple check, walked around the car, and checked the fuel gauge, then said everything was fine, which was great. In the end, there were no additional charges.

It's a decent big company. However, this was my first time in Spain, and I noticed there was an extra charge for upgrading to a hybrid vehicle due to emission regulations. But in reality, it wasn't necessary at all.

Picking up and returning the car was very convenient and faster than expected, barely taking any time. The rental service was located right outside the airport and easy to spot. I didn’t get the Camry I booked and was given a Subaru instead. The accelerator felt a bit sensitive, but it struggled to gain power uphill. Not sure if it’s the model or just this particular car. Overall, the service was pretty good.

Large car rental companies are indeed better than smaller local ones in Italy. The service is great, and the car condition is excellent. The only downside is that Italians don't work on Sundays, making the self-service return points hard to find and the return process quite troublesome. It took me over an hour to finalize it.

Very satisfied. The only downside is that the Audi provided to two petite Asian women only has parking sensors and no rearview camera. The car is too long, making it impossible to see the ground ahead or behind while reversing or navigating narrow, sloped parking garages.

If there are multiple drivers, an extra $8 per person per day is required. Also, parking needs to be prepaid; otherwise, fines can be significant. The vehicle was spacious and relatively new. We traveled from the North Island to the South Island for 11 days and used just over two tanks of fuel. CarPlay was very convenient, and there was no need for an additional phone holder. QEEQ and Europcar coordinated seamlessly, and pickup was quick. The only downside is that claims require upfront payment and reimbursement later, though luckily, there were no costs incurred this time.

The car's condition was average, and the steering wheel had a bit of play, but it didn't affect driving. I didn't upgrade the insurance when picking up the car, and it didn't matter at all. The deposit was refunded just a few hours after returning the car, which was very efficient. The driving speed in Oman is relatively fast, with highways typically at 140 km/h and urban expressways reaching up to 120 km/h.

The price was higher than expected, possibly due to additional taxes or similar charges.

Picked up the car at Venice Airport. Remember to get a ticket from the machine at the entrance and wait in line. If there are many people, you might need to wait for a while. The car rental agent was an Italian man, and he was quite friendly. He upgraded us to an Audi A5, and the car was in great condition. We didn’t encounter any issues during the trip. Returning the car was also very convenient; just park it in the designated lot, where Europcar staff will assist with the process. Very quick and efficient.

The rental staff were very friendly and gave us a brand-new pickup truck with just over 1,000 kilometers on it. The truck bed had a cover, providing a large storage space. We easily fit three suitcases inside with plenty of room to spare. The vehicle had great power, and we felt completely at ease even when driving through waterlogged roads while exploring several national parks. The return process was very efficient—they only asked if the tank was refueled and refunded the deposit quickly in no time.

The staff at the front desk were friendly. The Bern branch is small, so there's no need to queue.

I booked a specific Land Cruiser but got a Defender instead, which was slightly disappointing. Other than that, everything was fine.

After returning the car, I was charged R464.80 without any explanation of the fees. I only found out from my credit card statement, as the rental company did not notify me via email or other means.

The car wasn't cleaned, there was no fuel, and the windshield washer fluid was empty. It seems like they gave me the car directly after the last person returned it.

The rental company provided a Mazda CX60 Hybrid. Although I wasn’t familiar with the model and noticed the trunk was dented upon pickup, the company assured us that having full insurance meant we didn't need to worry about it. To be cautious, we still took videos and photos from all angles as records.
