Voiture pas en bon état.

I was told on arrival that my card wasn't valid and I'd have to provide a €300 cash deposit along with a €180 admin charge. The car provided was not the one I ordered on the website but was a high mileage wreck with lots of scratches and dents. The air con didn't work and more worryingly the brake fluid light kept coming on. On returning the car the staff weren't interested in my complaints.

Do yourself a favour and book a more professional car hire company. No details were provided of where to find ABBYCAR. They were a 5-10 minute walk away from the airport! We had to make a last-minute amend to the booking, and were subsequently forced to pay an extra €350 insurance on arrival or we could cancel the booking with no refund! The car we were given looked like it had been in a fairly substantial accident. A car in this condition really shouldn't be rented out.

There was couple of minor scratches on the plastic bumper, no dent, no real damage, just scratches. Every car has couple of them at least, especially when driving on greek roads. However, they charged 660€ for the damage. For the damage they are not going to fix ever. Even the clerk admitted that it will “most probably stay”. They are making real good money out this “damage” business and I am wondering how this can be legal. I checked and the whole new bumper for hyundai i20 costs half less.

Fortunately I bought full Axa insurance. However it isn’t really care free, because anyway you must cover the damage and then apply for the refund. The settlement should be direct, between car rental company and EasyRentCars / Axa.

It took few minutes to locate the company representative outside the arrivals area (a bigger sign would have helped), besides that everything was very good. Fast & effective service both in pickup & return. The representative @ the counter was very nice & helpful.

Booking platform is easy to use. The overall process was good.
