BUDGET CAR RENTAL REVIEWS IN COSTA RICA

Waited almost 2 hours. Car fuel cap didn’t open. Needed service on first day. Piece of crap car.

Budget had the most transparent pickup process I have had in Costa Rica. Every other company I have used adds on extra insurance they say is required. The car was not ready when we went to pick up so they even delivered it to our house. Great experience.

Voiture parfaite comme choisi. Mais tu veux prendre la voiture le lendemain de ton arriver. C’est très difficile.

First of all, the counter clerk insisted I pay $3000US deposit on the vehicle because I declined the "zero liability" insurance option even after I confirmed the fact my Visa includes this as a card courtesy. This could potentially ruin someone's trip if they didn't have that kind of money to leave as a deposit. Then, without my knowledge or say so, the vehicle booked was substituted for an inferior vehicle which lead to me blowing a tire while traveling to my rental property and then having to waste a day of my vacation (4+hour round trip) to return the vehicle and exchange it. Not to mention that the jack included in the vehicle was damaged and missing pieces making the tire change much more difficult than it should have been. Overall, NOT a good experience with Budget!

Booking was good; the price dropper was not effectuated for me.

The Budget contract is a little misleading. I did not know that I had purchased the basic insurance or the prepaid gas. The staff never informed me.

Great experience

The car had 60000 km on the clock but the front tyres were very worn and badly under inflated on pick up. Too tired to make a fuss re tyre condition after 11 hour flight but asked staff to top up the air. I had to top up with air on both front tyres twice during the 2 week trip. The rep insisted that I typed in my personal information on my phone which was laborious after a long flight and it would have been much quicker if they did it on their website. On car return the rep pointed out a large dent in the driver's door. I had not seen the condition report at pick up as it was not referred to by the staff and attached to the back of the contract. I did take pictures before leaving so was able to prove that the dent was pre existing.

Would be good if local knowledge of airport was better as the vehicle I selected was pick up in terminal but that is not an option at Liberia.

Si van a rentar con conoañias como budget deberían revisar y cobrar el seguro de inicio

El vehículo fue excelente. Como consejo tienen que mejorar el lugar de la lanzadera (el pickup del bus que lleva a la rentadora). Todo lo demás fue con una buena atención por parte de todo el personal

Fue bastante fácil, recomiendo como placas con resúmenes de los seguros que se incluyen y los servicios no incluidos, porque el tema de los seguros es bastante complejo de entender en un país distinto al de uno
