Conditional:

Towards any New Zealand islands, taking rental cars crossing islands is allowed with certain conditions.
Vehicles cannot travel on ferries. Europcar offers an inter-island service: return the car at one terminal and collect another on the next island. Only one exchange allowed per rental. Contact info@europcar.co.nz at least 5 days before ferry crossing.

Ferry Transportation: Not Allowed

Europcar does not allow to bring the rental vehicle to ferry. You will drop off your car at one port and collect another after crossing to the other island. A minimum of 3 days consecutive rental required in each island (If the minimum length of rental requirement is not met, then the rental will be charged as two separate hires.).

    They upgraded us to a hybrid car, which was spacious and comfortable to drive. Pretty good experience overall. After returning the car, they charged us NZD 100.55, but we're not sure what the fee is for. Waiting for QEEQ to help us find out!
