The IceRentalCars - Reykjavik - Keflavik International Airport car rental location is located out of the airport

Upon arrival and after clearing customs please exit the terminal and follow the signs for car rental shuttle. Proceed through a covered walkway to the shuttle pick-up point which is at the end. The car rental shuttle service runs every 15 minutes and will take you to the Ice Rental office. The local number 354 591 7900 will work on your cell phone when using an international roaming service. If the line fails to connect re-dial 00 354 591 7900. Not so good:The car made a terrible noise when accelerating from after shifting gears. Note that it had 163000kms on its clock The front seats were all stained. Very good: the car was comfortable and drove fine everywhere for 5 days. It had heated seats and heated wheel a nice bonus in november

Although the location is a bit far from the airport, the service is great. There's a pickup service from the airport when you rent the car and a drop-off service when you return it. The staff is very friendly, and you can ask them about Iceland road signs if you haven't done much research.
