They do try to upsell you a bit—suggesting a bigger car, pricier insurance, prepaying fuel and so on—but they’re not pushy about it. Just say no to everything if you’re not interested and it’s fine.

Reliable car quality and super fast pickup and return.

Paid extra to upgrade the car class, and the Avis guy didn’t even charge a deposit or add-on driver fee—really appreciated that.

Excellent service. They recommended an electronic toll pass, basically like ETC, and it worked great—saved us a lot of time at toll booths.

The car rental desk at Izmir Airport was easy to find and the staff were really patient. The only downside was that the return location was quite hard to locate. Luckily we ran into a staff member from the rental company who kindly walked us over to the right place. The return process itself was super simple and only took a few minutes, and our deposit was refunded in less than ten business days. Big thumbs up to Avis.

Booked a Toyota Corolla but got a free upgrade to a KIA MPV instead. Tons of space and it drove really well.

It was my first time driving a right-hand-drive car so I was a bit uncomfortable at the beginning, but the car was super smart with all kinds of assist features—lane keeping, blind spot/lane change alerts, adaptive speed limit, etc. It really reduced the chance of an accident and made city driving feel easy and under control. Loved it!

They even upgraded me for free to a Chrysler with a 3.6L engine—ventilated and heated seats, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, cruise control, you name it. All the power doors and windows made everything really easy to use. Best part: the car was basically brand-new, super reliable, so I never had to worry about breaking down on the road. Returning the car was just as smooth and easy—drop-off location was easy to find and there were staff on-site guiding the process. Totally recommend!

We happened to hit a really busy time around midday, and with only a few counters open the line moved slowly so we ended up waiting quite a while.

I told them I needed a roomy car. At first they gave me an Alfa Romeo, but then they thought it over and switched me to a more spacious Kona. Really appreciated that.

If 100 is a perfect score, I’d give them about an 88. Overall the service was solid, but there’s one thing I have to point out.
I showed up right on time at 12:00 to pick up the car. They did arrange a same-class vehicle for me (another VW SUV), but when we got to the parking lot they told me the car still wasn’t cleaned and asked me to wait… The problem is, this waiting time doesn’t get reflected anywhere – I still had to return the car at the original time stated in my booking.
After I insisted, the staff on site verbally agreed I could return the car 30 minutes later (important detail: only he knew about this. When I returned the car, it was a different staff member who checked it in, and they just charged me for an extra full day).

Around 1pm I realized I’d left the key in the car and it had locked itself. I messaged QEEQ to help coordinate, and also called Avis to arrange a tow truck. The tow truck came around 4:30, and by 5:30 we were at the Avis service center. It was a Friday and they were technically already off work by the time we arrived, but they still helped us unlock the car and sort everything out. We didn’t get out of there until after 6, so it definitely took longer than I expected for something you’d hope to fix within the same day. Lesson learned: when renting a car abroad, always keep the key on you—never leave it in the car!
