I was blackmailed into extra charges over 80 € for picking up the car out of hours and a diesel surcharge. I picked up the car exactly as specified in the rental agreement and didn't request a diesel in the first place. Goldcar told me it's the only car they have left so either I pay or leave. They are thieves.

Horrible experience with counter staff at Lisbon Airport. Unfriendly, lazy, failed to provide information about the drop-off process, tried to manipulate me to buy extra insurance. Extremely unprofessional and would not use them again.

“Some hidden costs, but good experience overall”

Towards the end, the car indicated an Oil problem which was a bit disconcerting. Also, There are charges only my contract I don't understand nor were they explained (Premium Location & Smart return). And I don't understand the final amount charged to my card. There is no break up provided.

Was very happy with vehicle condition as it was new car just 1400 km. At pick up counter was kind of mis guided about additional insurance stuff. It felt like they are trying to force sale additional insurance. Otherwise overall it was very good experience.

Best price car hire though with first rental discount. Very for money. Definitely recommend.

“The car was okay, the rest definitely not!”

We waited for more than 2 hours at the desk! The power of the car we booked was too little for the roads on the island, so ‘needed’ an upgrade of the car and at the end we had to pay 380 Euro extra on top what we paid at EasyRentCars! No Goldcar anymore!
