I was blackmailed into extra charges over 80 € for picking up the car out of hours and a diesel surcharge. I picked up the car exactly as specified in the rental agreement and didn't request a diesel in the first place. Goldcar told me it's the only car they have left so either I pay or leave. They are thieves.

Terrible service pre pay for insurance they charge me again for something i did not ask saying that ins i pre pay doesn’t count for them. Rip off! Never again .Do Not Recommend at all.

“Car insurance was not accepted by rental car vendor and wasted my money.”

Goldcar at Lisbon Airport refused to accept the full coverage insurance that I purchased through eayrentcars.com and therefore I wasted a good sum of money. I even had the certificate of coverage with me and they would not accept that.

Goldcar refused to accept the full coverage insurance that I purchased through easyrentcars.com and therefore I wasted a good sum of money through easyrentcars.com. The insurance this site sells comes off as a bit of a scam. I ended up paying an additional amount of around 150 euro to cover my rental with no excess through Goldcar. I do not recall easyrentcars.com offer an option to opt out of the insurance either.

Be careful of added expenses they will try to add. On collection there was a long queue and the staff were in no hurry so it took over an hour. Also be careful of the toll roads in Portugal, Goldcar give you very little info on this on collection. My car had an error light on, I told them about it but they didn’t seem to care.

“Had so many 'Surprise' fees that we had to pay at the counter. Pretty much double what we paid onlin”

Clerks at counter were nice but pretty much h said the fees were cumpulsory and not included with our online rental. Very disappointing when one thinks what they paid is the full amount of the rental online.
