Excellent!

The pickup service was truly awful. Waiting in line for three and a half hours in the middle of the night was torturous. They switched me to a high fuel consumption car without notifying me. The license plate number and rental time on the receipt were incorrect. Even after the car was prepared and the engine was running, they didn’t inform me, unnecessarily making me wait an extra hour. Additionally, there were old scratches on the car, but no inspection process was performed.

Excellent car rental experience

The service of AVIS is terrible, but the price is cheap. The car condition is very bad, it constantly reminds for maintenance, probably due to poor upkeep. The tires are heavily worn, making it hard to control at high speeds. Also, don't expect a specific car model, you will get a similar class of car. The most unacceptable part is that they charged me for a whole day for returning the car one hour late without any explanation. The rental price is cheap, cheaper than other companies, which is their only advantage.

At the time of pickup, I clearly stated I didn't need any additional insurance and asked what the $137 was for. The clerk said it was a deposit that could be refunded. Since previous rentals involved prepayments, I didn't pay much attention. However, when I was charged, it turned out to be an expense, not a common $200 prepayment. I later discovered the bill included road assistance and some highway insurance, which were abbreviated and hard to understand.

1) First car assigned was not clean and had feces in the back seat. I had to go in and have another car assigned. 2) When I dropped off car, it was clean, had a full tank of gas, and was on time. I was told I would get a receipt sent to me. Not only did I not get a receipt sent, but I was charged an additional US$80.01 without any explanation. I have now had to put the charge into dispute with my credit card company.
