I was worried about checking car for damage at pick up, as it was raining and hard to check . I did take photos. Luckily we had a short trip this time and I took care of th e car. I was given a hybrid car and it was very good.

I booked a Toyota Prado but ended up with an Isuzu MU-X, a diesel vehicle with over 50,000 kilometers. It was okay, fully functional, and a 4WD, but it felt different from the vehicle I originally reserved. In the future, I'd be cautious about choosing options labeled as 'same group'.

To avoid disputes, we bought full insurance. We were careful drivers and had no issues, so we didn’t interact much with the rental company. On the pick-up day, we signed a contract, and they held a deposit of around 61 NZD, which was refunded about three to four days after returning the car. It was rather smooth, and I think the full insurance played a big role.
