The car was decent, with a mileage of 40,000 kilometers. However, the windshield had two cracks caused by stones that were not repaired, slightly affecting visibility while driving. The steering felt a bit loose, which wasn't ideal given the narrow roads and gravel paths typical in Tasmania. The staff at the rental office were quite diligent and patient. I purchased full insurance from the rental company, and there were no pre-authorizations or deposits. They charged 300 AUD for insurance, and I was able to drive away immediately.

Overall, it was a good experience. I wanted a brightly colored car, but they didn't have one. They recommended upgrading to a small SUV for $5 a day, which was great.
