1. The vehicle was old and required prepayment for a full tank of gas, but the gauge did not show full when I picked up the car. The staff told me that being four bars short is considered full and that I didn't need to add more fuel. They charged $65 for a full tank, but after driving for a while, I found that a full tank actually costs around $55. This price difference is unacceptable! 2. When picking up the car, they kept pushing for additional insurance and upgrades. Due to language barriers, I ended up adding theft protection at over $50, plus taxes. I waited an hour to pick up the car and didn’t have the energy to argue. 3. The next day, on Highway 1 in the US, the car wouldn’t start after a rest stop. I was stranded in the wilderness until a kind American helped me fix it after 30 minutes. Afterwards, I didn’t dare turn off the engine and drove straight to Santa Barbara without stopping. When I called DOLLAR customer service, they said I would have to wait for someone to come fix it or go to Los Angeles International Airport to exchange the car, with no guarantee of what car I would get. Since the car seemed fine after multiple tests, I decided to continue using it rather than detouring to the airport. Fortunately, no further issues arose, but I will never use DOLLAR cars again!
