In my order appears Alfa Romeo Stelvio (or similar) and this means SUV type car. The claim of goldcar was they don’t recognize this order like SUV and in their company it counts like F group so we received Fiat Tipo SW with no option to change so this is not SUV and of course not similar to Alfa Romeo Stelvio class.

It doesn’t matter how cheap your original booking is, you will pay extra. One way or another. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. The Customer service rep I met at pick up told me better get the extra insurance because the way this company works, even the tiniest thing will be charged and better to just get the extra cover so I did. I paid extra for the premium insurance. I was told it was ‘mega relax’ and that the only time I would be charged for anything on return of the vehicle was if I refilled it with the wrong type of fuel or broke the law ie speeding. Returned the vehicle with breadcrumbs, dust and some paper rubbish got charged a 50 euro special cleaning fee. The photos attached to the settlement statement prove exactly this. It was a 10 day hire, of course there is going to be some dust and debris inside in reasonable use. I contacted customer services but the response was, “it’s a valid charge.” Absolutely ridiculous. It could have been vacuumed up in 2 minutes! I would have done it myself if I’d had any idea there would be a charge! Last time I hired a vehicle from Hertz it was returned with far more dirt and dust inside and they didn’t charge a cent. I will certainly never use Goldcar again and I’m appalled that this is how Goldcar operates.

Both staff worked in tandem to make me feel our purchase with easycars was wrong and choice of vehicle a joke. They tried to bully us into a diesel car to save fuel - we only paid 7€ in petrol in a week. We had purchased inadequate insurance with yourselves through our booking and might as well tear it up and pay another 178€. Our choice of car was unavailable when we arrived and the response was we were stupid for thinking we would get the vehicle we wanted. was told over 80% of cars come back damage and we weren’t covered with our choice. They informed us that We would have to pay at least 2000€ for anything damaged. The particular young lad would be wise to sharpen his act before a customer gets truly offended by him. a disgrace to the company who I have dealt with many times. This is actually my first review after 42 years, that’s how angry I was with the service. He Even wrote all I’ve my paperwork “no insurance” trying to force through his bonus payment I assume. As it was the car was returned in perfect condition with only 45 miles added as I explained we had little use for it apart from driving to villa. Will never use again

Everything was fine with booking and even passed on the additional savings with no hidden agenda
