Very satisfied

The store had a short queue, but the staff was pretty slow and often answered phone calls. Initially, I chose Avis despite being double the price because I wanted a new car and good service. However, the actual cars provided were quite old, one had nearly 40,000 km and the other almost 30,000 km. The Mitsubishi SUV was also outdated. Later in Auckland, I rented from EUROPCAR, and got two very new SUVs with one having 1,500 km and the other 5,000 km. The car features were also excellent.

It's okay.

You can see it as soon as you come out, and occasionally there's a Mandarin-speaking staff member or even a dedicated translator. The customer service was a bit slow during pickup, and they only tried to sell me roadside assistance, which I didn't buy. Drop-off was frustrating; they showed me an invoice, and I noticed the price was $200 higher. I asked why, and after a long explanation, they said it was because the gas tank wasn't full. I had filled it up before returning, and only after showing the fuel receipt was the charge waived.

The contract details with Avis were not as clear as with Hertz, and the on-site charges were higher than the online rates. In New Zealand, we used Hertz on the South Island and Avis on the North Island, and Hertz was definitely better.
