A FAMILY TRIP THAT STARTED ON A BAD NOTE

After confirming the time of arrival and contacting the agent for picking us up, it took them almost another 30minutes to get to us. After arriving at their offices, we were informed that the vehicle (Toyota Kluger 7-Seater) which we have booked is not available but they will give us an upgrade from a seven seater to a five seater - we are/were six people! After almost an hour, they gave us another vehicle (Toyota Terraco) with much less space for our family and luggage. The vehicle was dirty as well and not filled up with fuel. We didn't have a choice and had to take this vehicle as we were already late for a function. On our return we were informed that the back bumper was scratched - probably trolley damage. We had to pay a $1000 for the damages. We also filled up the vehicle with fuel and used it only for two days and not three days as paid for - due to all the delays and time wasting, the rental days were only 2 days.

The car certainly exceeded my expectation, all around. It was a near new car, so it was beautiful to drive and the condition was immaculate. The service was good, but the premises are far from professional. The driver that picked us up was the same that did the paperwork, took us to our car and took tons and tons of pictures of the car, tyres, rims, everything. Very Very fussy lender. He ran the show all by himself on pickup. In my many experiences of car rentals, this is the first time I have been asked to provide a receipt to prove that I have filled up with fuel before dropping off the car.

The booking platform worked well. I found that the bond of $1500.00 was excessive, and I am not sure any mention of that was made at the time of booking. Not everyone has an extra $1500.00 in their account, unexpectedly.

“Easy rental experience, all co-ordinated by great friendly staff”

The total experience from EZU was great. However, the staff may need some additional training on understanding the policy wording document. When asked if there were any restrictions on where I couldn't drive, (eg, on unsealed roads) it was clear the staff member did not know about not driving on unsealed roads until I had read the contract & questioned him about it. In the event of an accident, I believe I would've been held culpable if I had signed the contract without knowing the above. Overall I would refer my friends & colleagues to EZU, great experience. Had to call a local number for pick up so that cost a lot from my UK mobile. Was surprised at no courtesy phone in arrivals area. However, we did receive a nice model upgrade from Qashqui to X-Trail which more than made up for that.
