You can walk to the counter of AVIS - Calgary International Airport car rental.

All renters go to baggage claim. All car rental parking is adjacent to the Rental Car Centre. Follow these directions to the Rental Car Centre: DOMESTIC ARRIVAL WITH BAGGAGE AND ALL INTERNATIONAL ARRIVALS: From baggage claims area on the arrivals level; follow overhead signage to Rental Car Centre elevator lobby located in the parking area directly across the street from the terminal. Take elevator to the second level, exit right and proceed to the Avis counter. DOMESTIC ARRIVAL WITHOUT BAGGAGE: Customer may proceed directly to the Rental Car Centre without going downstairs to the arrivals level. Proceed directly from security to the exits on the second level and across the street to the Rental Car Centre entering at either the north or south ends. The Avis counter is located to the right of the elevators.

AVIS is excellent. Both my husband and I drove, and there were no extra charges. However, the previous rental company, ALAMO, charged CAD 10 per day for adding a second driver. At AVIS, the car model we booked was not available, but they found us a much newer 8-seater 6.0L GMC within an hour. It was much better than what we originally reserved, and they didn't charge extra. Very trustworthy!

I recently rented a car from Hertz in Los Angeles and Seattle. They had plenty of new cars, with the one I got only having 3000+ kilometers. But when I rented from Avis in Vancouver, they had fewer cars and suggested we pay for an upgrade. The car I got had over 16000 kilometers already. The main issue was that I booked a Chrysler 200, a mid-sized car, but at pickup, the staff suggested an upgrade which I declined. They then claimed they did not have my booked model and tried to give me a small Fiat instead, saying it was a similar model. I refused and they pushed for a paid upgrade. After insisting, they finally provided a Chrysler 300. In conclusion, I am very dissatisfied with the service from their staff.

We booked an extra-large SUV, but when we arrived, they claimed it was unavailable and tried to give us another SUV. After waiting for 3 hours, they finally gave us the reserved extra-large SUV, which was actually parked right there. It was clearly not the case that the car hadn't arrived. Initially, we were given a car that had been in an accident with faulty brakes and an engine that sounded like thunder. After negotiating with the rental company, they replaced it with another car. However, for my other booking, where I also rented a large car, I was informed there were no cars available and was given a smaller car instead. We couldn't fit our luggage, but luckily we had booked three cars and were able to adjust. Otherwise, we wouldn't have known how to continue the journey. Also, adding an additional driver costs extra, which is not the case with other rental companies.

When picking up the car, the fuel tank was not full. The display showed a range of 758 kilometers. When returning at the airport with a full tank, it showed a range of 800 kilometers. The car's exterior was not cleaned, and there was trash by the seat inside. The wipers did not clean the windshield properly. The steering wheel was too light, the brakes were too heavy, acceleration was slow, and the buttons inside the car were not user-friendly, making it feel like an airplane cockpit. The car's GPS failed to locate the current position all day, showing as being in Alaska, and there was never any response when calling the rental office at Calgary Airport. Despite having already bought the highest level of insurance on the rental platform, AVIS staff pressured me to buy additional insurance, warning that even a small scratch would cost 1000 CAD. This was by far my worst car rental experience ever!

The queue for picking up the car took more than 1.5 hours, even though the pickup time was already scheduled 45 minutes earlier, I still had to wait an additional hour.
