Hertz Car Rental with SUV

Super efficient rental process – got the car really quickly.

Picked it mainly because of their airport branch.

The staff were really friendly and never tried to push any extra insurance. When my card didn’t go through for the deposit, they were very patient and helped sort it out using another method.

The counter is right inside the airport, with three staff working at the same time, so there’s basically no waiting. The pickup and return process is very clear and straightforward.

Pickup was super smooth and easy to find just by following the signs. They didn’t push any extra insurance at all, just reminded me the booking only included the basic coverage from the rental company.

I’d already bought insurance back home, but when I got there they pushed me to add more. I don’t really speak the language, and they made it sound like I couldn’t pick up the car without it, so I just went ahead and paid for the extra coverage.

Really great rental experience this time. I landed in Tucson pretty late, but thanks to the clear instructions on my booking it was super easy to find the rental location. The staff were very friendly and professional, didn’t try to upsell me anything, and processed everything quickly. Picking up the car was smooth and straightforward. Returning the car was just as easy: even though there were several cars ahead of me, the staff checked mine very quickly. The whole return process took less than 10 minutes—they just walked around the car once and that was it, no delays at all. Overall, incredibly convenient.

Thrifty and Hertz are basically the same company here – they share the same counter and the same staff, all in Hertz uniforms. I rented at Milan airport and drove to Rome, and when a window broke I contacted the airport branch through a nearby location. Swapping the car was super easy: they updated the contract and I was done in about 5 minutes. Hertz is really efficient and the service was great, big thumbs up from me. I also bought the full insurance directly at the counter instead of through QEEQ, since local rental companies usually don’t recognize Chinese insurance.

There were tons of people and no cars available at first, everyone was just waiting. Maybe because we had kids with us, we only waited about 15 minutes. They didn’t try to hard-sell any extras either, just asked about them briefly and that was it.

Big international brands really are more convenient.

The rental company’s service was really good.

Pick-up and drop-off are at the same place, and there’s a shuttle that takes you to and from the airport, super fast and convenient. We rented on the Big Island for 6 days over the Spring Festival, booked early, and full coverage was only about 2,100 RMB. Even when the volcano erupted, they still kept our car for us, which was really reassuring.

Just walked in with my passport and the little white booklet, and that was all they needed. They even helped clear the snow off the car, really solid service.

Everything went super smoothly, no one tried to upsell me extra insurance, and they clearly explained the driving area limits. Drop-off was also really efficient. I’ve rented with Hertz many times now and they’ve been consistently good.

Can’t quite remember the exact model, just a basic manual. The car was a bit old but it ran fine with no real issues.

No lines at all and pickup was super fast. We even got the car about 20 minutes earlier than our scheduled time, no upselling and no pointless chit‑chat.

You first register and pay the deposit at the counter inside the airport, then head to the parking lot office to find the staff from your rental company and do the vehicle inspection before picking up the car. During peak times you may have to wait a bit, so I’d recommend allowing extra time when returning the car.

Absolutely excellent

They didn’t have the VW I booked, so they upgraded me to a Nissan SUV instead. The car was brand new and drove really well. Honestly, an amazing rental experience!!
