Disappointing!

Our person at the pick up counter did the best she could however she was the only working and the line got very long. When we walked out to get our car we were somewhat shocked as the car we were given looked less than well maintained...no hubcaps on any of the wheels. Looked like it had 4 spares. (See pictures) When we asked to have another car we were told we would have to go back downstairs and wait in a very long line which we did not have the time to do. The car made some strange noises while we drove it and we often wondered if it was going to make it up a hill or two. Overall, this car really should not have been put out for rental. We were VERY disappointed and will be asking for a refund. As frequent travelers this was definitely NOT how a rental car experience should be.

I've had the most unpleasant experience during the process of picking up the car. First, It was supposed to be all paid for (I made the reservation through Easyrentcars). The booking clearly said: "amount due to at pick up: U$S 0.00". But out of the blue, the gentleman who received me, told me I had to pay U$S 29 (more or less, I can't recall exactly). After several times I said I didn't have to pay anything, finally I had to accept this unfair charge in order to get the car. Secondly, he told me that the model I booked, wasn't available (Toyota Yaris Hybrid, but any other ecological model would have done it) and that I had to pay U$S 90 more for another kind of vehicle. This, I refused and finally got a nice car (but notghing ecological). Finally, I tried several times to explain the gentleman on the front desk that since I paid my booking with Visa Platinum, I ALREADY HAD insurance and (as instructed by VISA), I should decline the insurance they offered me. At this point, the thing got stopped because Jamen (this was his name) told me it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to take the car unless I pay more or less U$S 130 more for the insurance, or even more for the coverage of car malfunction. Finally, I paid more than U$S 200 extra (not included the charge for prepaid fuel, which I don't claim). So I hope and I expect easyrentcars and/or advantage will fill this situacion.

“New charges, desk staff not helpful”

1) The online booking was fine. But when at the EZ/Easy/Advantage DESK to pick up the PREPAID car, they said I owed a further $27... could NOT say for what. I showed them my "fully paid, pay nothing at pickup" printed receipt from the online booking, but the desk clerk just kept exclaiming "it's on the screen!" and "that's another company (who books online), not Advantage, so that's their problem!". I paid the darn $27 to get the car, PLUS ANOTHER $200 "DEPOSIT" which I did not read about ANYWHERE when I was booking. Stressful pick up. But the good news is the car was fine, and the $227 charge has now disappeared off my credit card after returning the car. So the desk clerk really has no idea and could not explain any of that, which would have been much more helpful. 2) I had to electronically sign on their system that I accept their insurance, but I was DECLINING, as I have my own insurance (and for my own insurance to kick in, I MUST "decline" the rental insurance). The clerk kept saying "it's included!" Confusing, as the online booking did not include insurance and I was not being charged for it. If insurance is free/included, by all means say so all over the place!
