Car had not been checked before collection - on 2nd day of rental the engine warning light came on and on my inspection the engine coolant level was very low so had to purchase coolant to fill up the reservoir! Alamo staff knew nothing about the "$1" deposit scheme and it took a long time to convince them they should not take the full Alamo deposit! Car was OK but older than I would have expected and was quite tatty.

When picking up the car, the counter staff still tried to sell insurance and suggest an upgrade to a larger car. After repeatedly refusing, I finally got the car! At the pickup, I took the contract and went to the designated car area to choose the vehicle myself. Any car parked in that area was available for selection. Nobody inspected the car with me, so you need to be cautious. However, the selection was vast, with significant differences among the options. Take your time to look around!

The car was relatively new, and both renting and returning were very convenient. The staff was patient and enthusiastic. The car was cleaned inside and out. Usually, the paperwork is done in just a few minutes after you arrive at the garage. Very convenient! A great company!
