I made a reservation in advance and was slightly delayed by traffic, returning the car within an hour past the scheduled time. The agreement was that there would be no additional charges, but the drop-off location still charged an extra $160 for being about 50 minutes late. The original reservation details were not properly communicated to the drop-off point. Ultimately, after waiting about 30 minutes in line and communicating with them, the charge was refunded. If you need to catch a flight, this can be very stressful. I hope the phone customer service and the office staff can coordinate better.

When we arrived at the store, they demanded an upgrade for a higher price. After we refused, they gave us a downgraded vehicle. The next day, when we went to the store for an explanation, they pretended not to know. In the end, there was no apology!

According to the quote from Zuzuche, the rental price included various fees and taxes, making the total $325. However, ALAMO charged $500.4 to my credit card and listed some additional taxes. Why is that? The car was the one I reserved. Can you explain? Is the quoted price on Zuzuche reliable? There are too many uncertainties for the renter.

Overall, it was okay. Since this time we had a family of four (three adults and one child) with three large suitcases, the attendant strongly recommended an extra-large American car, a Chevrolet. As smaller-sized Asians, we had to climb into the car. Of course, the cost skyrocketed from over 4000 for 16 days to over 8000, doubling our budget. If it weren't for the car's navigation system being very helpful for this trip to the western USA, it would have felt like an upsell. Returning the car was relatively easy!
