One major problem when I picked up the rental car and left the airport I was driving the the motorway and I noticed the bonnet was shuddering so I had to find a place to pull in, the bonnet was on the latch, whoever serviced the car before pick never closed it properly. We were very lucky it didn't fly off on the motorway

Tried to make us buy the most expensive insurance without discussing it with us.

Car had Aircon even though it wasn't guaranteed which was great because we got one of the few weeks you'd need it in Ireland!

Counter staff refused to give me a car unless I pay for the upgraded insurance that would cost 300 euro so I refused to pay as the car was to come with insurance and I also have coverage with my credit card I asked would the put a hold for the overage on my card and they refused.

Like: No real hard sell, just good negotiating
