Originally rented an economy SUV but was given a Volkswagen Golf hatchback instead; couldn't fit the luggage and had to upgrade to a Tiguan. The latest model Tiguan is really great. Drove 2600 kilometers with it, very stable, which is surely related to the car being new. No unnecessary or deceptive fees. However, car options in Munich were limited, and rental prices were relatively high; I recommend renting in Hamburg instead. Additionally, the return process was efficient, and the deposit refund was quick. Great service.
Overall service was good, and the car pickup was quick. However, they kept pushing insurance sales, and I couldn't resist spending an extra 3,000 yuan on insurance, which I regret.
The rental company is quite good, with friendly service. They offered a routine insurance upgrade promotion, but after declining, they didn't insist. The car return process was fairly quick—overall, not bad.
It's quite convenient. You handle the paperwork at the airport and then take a shuttle bus to pick up the car. All rental companies share the same shuttle bus. However, the nighttime shuttle bus driver can be very strict and only allows around ten people on each ride. But other pickup locations aren't too far from the waiting area, and if needed, you can walk to them.
At Madrid Airport, all the car rental companies are located together, but both when picking up and dropping off the car, only the Europcar counter had a crowd, while the other counters had barely anyone. This really shows how good their car conditions and service are. When picking up the car, the counter was staffed by a lovely lady who spoke excellent English and was incredibly patient. She helped us choose the right car based on our needs and even recommended a car that had only 4,000 kilometers on it. Although we upgraded the car on site and paid extra, the overall service experience was amazing and definitely worth recommending.
The actual rental was a hybrid Toyota Corolla station wagon, which perfectly accommodated my colleague's large suitcase during the trip. The car was quite new, with less than 5000 kilometers on it, and offered a great driving experience.
The car rental companies at Sarajevo Airport are just past the parking lot, making this one easy to find. There was no attempt to upsell insurance. Sometimes not speaking English fluently can be an advantage—they might have been too lazy to engage in lengthy discussions, but they did mention everything necessary and repeatedly emphasized that in case of any incident, the first step is to call the police!
The service attitude was clear, and the explanation was detailed. Please note that the full insurance purchased on QEEQ has a 5000-euro deductible. To reduce it to zero, you need to purchase additional coverage directly at the car rental company.
