I bought full insurance on Zuzuche. When I picked up the car at the store, the staff said that since I had full insurance, there was nothing to worry about. Then they quietly added a bunch of extra insurance charges to the bill. This practice is really frustrating! Additionally, I want to verify if the fees are truly this high: 16% for airport fee, 19% for tax, 6% for license fee, and 4.5% for transport fee, totaling 45.5% in fees?

Crooks. Try and overcharge you at the start with fake fees then took 400 USD of my account and refuse to engage or return. Do NOT hire a car in Mexico.

Had a long wait to collect the car from Hertz standing in the queue with up sell to go premium and jump to the front. Tried to sell additional insurance to me using scare tactics despite explaining I had an annual policy covering the excess and didn’t want it. Car was clean except on front where washer fluid was probably spilt during a top-up. Taking photos of the condition of the car and emailing to the customer is a nice innovation by Hertz. Car was problem free throughout hire. Dropping off the car was super easy and quick. If only the collection could be like this.

The car was an older Polo with dents and bruises. Not a mid size car. The rental company did charge us more than the actual rent for an additional driver. Rentover 30 days was not possible. We had to return the car and exchange it to another on day 30 for the last 12 days. Overall the transparency of hidden/additional cost should be improved. But in comparison Hertz was still the most affordable just more than double than was was budgeted.
