Reasonable rental cost at the expense of a bit of inconvenience picking up the car

This is an off-site location on Mannheim Road south of ORD. The pick-up involves taking the airport shuttle to the rental car center, then calling Routes for a pick-up. (Two shuttles altogether on pick-up.) Getting back to the airport after returning the car was easier, though: The Routes shuttle dropped returning passengers directly at their terminals rather than at the rental car center -- a nice touch.

Easy process. They tried to give me a different type of vehicle saying they did not have any available but then found keys to the type i had requested originally. The vehicle was missing an antenna and the interior roof was dirty. The staff was fast and ready to help.

“I was incredibly unhappy that I did not get the economy car I had rented and instead got an SUV.”

I wanted the car I rented, an economy car. I did not want an SUV. I doubt that I would rent from Routes again. Although I rented for a reasonable price, the add ons for insurance, some of which I did not really need, I found very irritating.

The vehicle delivered was no comparison to what I wanted - They pushed an off the road jeep on us that we drove just down the block and it was the most horrible ride..We turned right around and they put us in a Kia Forte which was a lot better. It drove great and got good gas mileage
