Overall, it was fine. Initially, they gave me a pickup truck, and when I requested a change, the staff asked me to wait. Then the person just disappeared for a long time. Eventually, I was told there had been a shift change. It took over an hour to resolve.
The service was excellent this time. I forgot to leave the lock in the car while on my way to the airport. When I realized it, I handed it to the driver who took me to the airport. He said he could deliver it to the company for me. I really appreciated this great service.
The staff at the Los Angeles Airport Budget rental office told me I only had basic insurance (even though I actually purchased the most comprehensive insurance, which even covered glass damage). They still insisted I pay an additional $240 for some 'non-package item,' which I suspect was a hidden fee. I immediately showed them the pre-prepared photos of documents from Zuzuche with English communication notes specifically for staff, but the staff member didn't even glance at them and kept repeating, 'You don't have any insurance. You can't rent a car unless you sign.' Since I was in a hurry to finish the rental and get to a game, I confirmed with her that this was a refundable fee and proceeded with the rental. However, after I returned the car, I was charged $240 on my credit card without notice. Next time, I'll book directly on an official website—never again do I want to spend unnecessary money like this.
There were plenty of airport shuttles, making it easy to get to the location. Completed the process on the app in advance, which made on-site procedures quicker and more convenient. The customer service was great and straightforward—ideal for people not fluent in English.
There were quite a lot of customers renting cars, but the staff was friendly and attentive. The insurance is provided by Zuzuche, so the local rental company might not be aware that you've already purchased insurance.
This was my worst car rental experience in the U.S. The rental process involved various kinds of mandatory upselling, saying that I would face certain risks if I didn't purchase their insurance. Then, inexplicably, they added a gas service fee. I've rented cars many times before and have never opted for this service. The staff didn't even ask about it and simply added it on. Before signing, I repeatedly asked if there were extra fees, and she said no. I asked her about the 'non pkg' fee on the order, and she explained it as a policy-related charge. Her accent was strange, she appeared to be of Asian descent, and her attitude was extremely bad and inefficient. This was the most unpleasant experience, and I will never rent from Budget again. In comparison, Hertz provides better service.
Cost-effective option. The same car model is cheaper compared to #vis across the street. Service is good, and both pickup and drop-off are very convenient.
