The first car we received had an issue with one tire, the pressure was too low. The rental office staff arrived only at 8:30 AM. At the car exchange location, the staff also arrived late, at 8:10 AM. After returning the car, we couldn't wait for the staff to arrange transportation to the airport.

When renting the car, they will ask if you want to buy Austria's highway vignette. I didn't buy it; instead, I selected toll-free routes on the GPS, and it worked perfectly. The road conditions were great, and you could even stop along the way to take photos. When picking up the car, make sure to carefully record a video of the entire vehicle condition, especially the front, rear, and undercarriage. When I returned the car, they claimed there were a few damages and asked for evidence if it wasn't new damage. Luckily, I had recorded a video that proved those were old damages, so the rental company refunded my deposit without further questions.

The usual routine of upselling insurance during pickup. This rental company charged me 29 euros for car cleaning—should have cleaned it myself for 2 euros. Small rental companies rely on these charges to make money. However, they were quite friendly.

At the time of pickup, the counter representative insisted that I either provide an International Driving Permit (IDP) or pay an additional 150 EUR for full coverage issued by your company. As a result, I had to order an online IDP, incurring an extra cost of 78 USD. Upon returning the car, the receiving agent assured me that everything was in order. However, the next day, I received an invoice with additional charges totaling 90 EUR, including: Out of Hours Charge (40.83 EUR): I had clearly stated in my booking that I would be returning the vehicle at night, and I was under the impression that this was already accounted for in the rental agreement. Therefore, I dispute this charge. Austrian Vignette (10.33 EUR): This charge is understood and acknowledged. Cleaning Surcharge (24.16 EUR): The car was returned in normal condition, with only unavoidable external dirt from rain and minor spotting on the floor mats. There was no excessive dirt or damage that would warrant an extra cleaning fee. I request clarification on the justification for this charge. Given the above, I request a refund of the unjustified charges (Out of Hours Charge and Cleaning Surcharge) and a review of your policies to ensure transparent communication regarding fees at the time of booking.

Very disappointing! After returning the car, my credit card was charged over 200 euros, claiming it was for car washing and some Vienna-related fees. During the return process, they confirmed there were no issues, yet the next day, they deducted money. They rented me a car with a Hungarian plate and still charged me a fee for entering Vienna?
The car itself had issues with the fuel gauge. It showed the tank wasn't full even after filling up and the pump automatically stopped. I ended up going to three or four different stations to refuel. Only when returning the car did they mention the fuel gauge was faulty. Couldn't they have informed me beforehand?
This was my worst experience in over ten self-driving trips in Europe.

Be cautious about fines when renting a car in Austria. At the counter, I confirmed with the staff whether I needed to buy a road ticket. The lady at the counter said it wasn't required within the country as it was all included. However, I still ended up being fined nearly 200 euros for a road ticket and handling fees.

The wait time to get the car ready and the unwillingness of the counter staff to give the cost break-up & answer my queries around cost was the only downside. If I remember correctly the delay was because they were fixing tyre puncture. Rest was all good, the car condition, cleanliness and pickup drop location.

Excellent service, provides shuttle service to the terminal with no hidden charges or insurance upselling. Highly recommended and trustworthy. Used up a bit of fuel without fully refilling, but upon return, the staff informed us it would only cost 5–6 euros. In the end, they charged just 5 euros. Very honest and reliable rental company.

I used a debit card and the rental company said it was not a credit card and charged additional fees. When I inquired about the deposit, they said it was charged by the booking platform. In the end, a new contract was signed on the spot, and the amount was completely different from the original booking. When asked for an explanation, they couldn't provide a clear answer.

The service was average, and additional fees were charged. After returning the car, I received a bill that included a €24.16 cleaning fee, which was not disclosed when renting the vehicle. I have never encountered this with other rental companies.
A highway toll fee was also charged mandatorily. Although highways in Austria require toll payments, this fee is typically optional—you can decide whether to purchase it at gas stations if you plan to use the highways.

The staff at the rental company was very friendly and efficient. Overall, it was a good experience, different from renting a car in Hungary. This company might be a smaller car rental business. I purchased the supercover insurance at the counter, but unlike Hertz, they didn't provide a black folder containing various documents. After confirming with the staff, I learned that any issues can be addressed by contacting the technical support hotline on the dashboard. The entire process was smooth, and returning the car was also quick. By the way, I'll opt for a diesel car next time.

Well, our trip to Europe ended more than seven months ago, and now we've received a traffic violation fine stating that we hadn't paid the Hungarian highway fees and were caught twice, resulting in a penalty of 185 euros. However, when we picked up the car, we were informed that it was already included, so everyone should pay extra attention to this! Just to clarify, we purchased highway passes in more than ten countries, so why wouldn't we buy one for Hungary? Returning the car was not easy—the parking lot charged fees, and it was inconvenient with the store being far from the airport.

They provided a brand-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class wagon, which was a diesel version. It had strong power and remained incredibly stable even at 160 km/h on the highway. After signing the contract at the counter, I got the key and picked up the car myself from the nearby underground parking lot, which was very convenient. The vehicle already had all highway toll passes, so no need to pay tolls myself. Returning the car was just as simple, in the same parking lot, with a full tank.

It might seem a bit late to leave a review two years after using the service, but I felt compelled to share my experience. I rented a car to go to Germany again but couldn't find the same cheap prices as before. The Ford Mondeo station wagon was very practical and had great value for money. The staff's attitude during the rental process was a bit poor, likely due to language barriers. However, the staff during the return process were great - they were quick and only checked for any bumps at the four corners of the car and looked at the fuel receipt.

The company appears to be seeking to charge for any extras they can. They insisted that the vehicle was not returned clean, which was ridiculous since the car was in excellent condition (we took some pictures ). We were charged an unreasonable amount of 100 euros. very Bad service of megadrive in my opinion. They take advantage of the fact that the customer did insurance. Luckily for us, easyrentcars are handling this as part of insurance and we look forward to positive answers.

On the day of the rental, we followed the GPS to the rental address and saw the rental company's logo, which made us very excited. However, the office was empty, and a nearby staff member told us that the rental company had moved last month, but we had not received any notification. So, our whole family, with all our luggage, had to spend money on a taxi to get to the new rental location. The staff at the new location were quite nice and processed our rental without any issues, but they didn't tell us where the car was. I had to find it myself, and the car key didn't have the license plate number, so it took a while to locate. The child safety seat needs to be installed by the user because if there's an accident, the rental company would be blamed. What kind of logic is that?

The store messed up the return date. We clearly booked to return the car on the 28th, but the contract said the 25th. We only found out when we got back. Called the rental company but didn't get it resolved. Had to go back to the airport the next day to sort it out. The store even falsely claimed that our main driver requested the change. Finally, after several calls, we got a new contract. The website quoted 431 euros, but the contract charged us 700. Besides the additional driver and cross-border fees which we were aware of, the rest was just unclear charges.

I was not clearly made aware in advance my booking was with Autounion. Missed initial collection at airport, pick up driver did not use our names. We were directed to wrong car and car we got had several dents and marks, not great condition externally. On drop off large Q of people and no one from Autounion speaking to tell us what was happening. Hard to park car due to busyness (cars everywhere) Once I approached a staff member they just took the keys and said that was car returned. No check on car made and no confirmation given on deposit refund. When I asked our return driver to airport they didn't no the refund procedure. Office tucked away round back of block all in all just didn't feel very professional.

Like: The BMW SERIES 2 Grand Tourer that we eventually obtained was excellent, but we had to pay extra for the upgrade from the Citroen C4 Picasso which we had ordered and was not available.
Dislike: When we arrived in Vienna, we were told that no Citroen C4 Picasso was available: we had chosen this car because of its large luggage capacity. There are four of us, with 3 large suitcases plus carry-ons. We were offered a Mercedes A class as an alternative, and then a B class, which we went up and inspected, but neither had sufficient luggage space. We were not prepared to pay substantially extra to upgrade to a 7 seater people carrier. Eventually the Hertz agent remembered that he had a BMW Series 2 Grand Tourer available, which proved to be excellent. However he said he was unable to give us a free upgrade, so after friendly attempts to persuade him, we reluctantly accepted the extra charge (42 euros + VAT).

The Security Deposit for the car to hire was rediculous. 1000 euro was roughly $1600 AUD for me. This required me to shift money around on pickup to cover and i still haven’t received the funds back which is inconvenient currently for the rest of my trip where I need the $$$. I also checked over the car before leaving and lucky I did as there was damage on the roof which has not been documented from the previous rental driver. This was a near miss and I could easily have been slapped with the bill as a result.

Picking up, using, and returning the car was very convenient. I recommend buying insurance at the rental location. I booked a Citroën but received an Opel, which was stable even at 160 km/h on the highway. The car had some scratches, but they informed me beforehand. I just handed over the keys when returning.

Your review of the car rental company: They provided a brand new car with less than 10 kilometers on it. The staff was also very nice and friendly. At the pickup, we were informed about a €60 border-crossing fee to Czech Republic, but when returning the car, an additional €30 license fee appeared out of nowhere. Since our English wasn't good enough to clarify, we just paid it. We also received a €24 parking violation ticket while on the road. We initially wanted the rental company to pay it on our behalf, but they charged a €30 service fee, which was too expensive. They suggested we transfer the amount directly to the Austrian police account after returning to our home country, but we're not sure how to do that and it's giving us a headache!
