Decided to rent a car at the last minute, so the options were limited. The car was relatively old with almost 140,000 kilometers on it, but the overall condition was acceptable. The Fairview Crescent area in Waiheke has narrow and winding mountain roads, making it difficult to pass other vehicles. Unless you have specific needs, it’s better to choose a smaller car model. Additionally, this rental company requires a NZD 2,000 credit card pre-authorization on-site, which is quickly canceled if the car is returned without issues—it was refunded to the account by the next day.
