The experience with Hertz was terrible. Do not choose this company. The system is chaotic, and every employee seems clueless about their job. They overcharge without reason, the refund process takes forever, there's no way to file complaints, and nobody takes responsibility. The handover process is extremely disorganized. The car itself had some minor issues. Additionally, they didn't mention any problems when the car was returned, but few days later they claimed there were scratches for which I couldn’t prove the responsibility, and they charged my credit card without my consent. Their actions are extremely unacceptable. Complaining to the rental platform didn’t help at all, still no resolution. Very poor service.

I specifically booked a Hertz Highlander, but only a Sorento was available at pickup. The price for a Sorento is half at other shops. The car had a bad odor throughout! Pickup was at 7 PM and drop-off at 8 PM. I confirmed that a one-hour delay was permissible, but was charged for at least half a day.

When I picked up the car at the Auckland airport counter, they said that the model I needed (Highlander) was not available. They asked me to downgrade to a RAV4 or switch to a minivan. After almost two hours of back and forth, they finally managed to get a Highlander for me, wasting a lot of time. For a big company like HERTZ, such issues are absolutely inexcusable.

International car rental company, excellent service!

We started queuing at around 6 PM local time and there were only 4 people ahead of us. We didn't get our keys until 8:30. The efficiency is incredibly poor, with each pickup taking about 30 minutes on average. Just one person at the counter, and phone calls and returns also affect the efficiency.
