Firstly, the vehicle categorization is unreasonable. I rented a compact car but was given a Jeep. They told me it falls under the same category as a compact car. Driving a Jeep on the German highway is slow and fuel-inefficient, with a consumption of 17 liters per 100 kilometers, and I had to stay in the slow lane with trucks! Also, I was driving alone and didn't need such a large vehicle, which was also difficult to park in the city! Additionally, Thrifty provided a Hertz car. After picking it up in Frankfurt and driving to my company in a smaller city, I couldn't exchange it at a local Hertz office. After a week of inconvenience, I had to drive over 100 kilometers back to Frankfurt to switch the car! Lastly, there was a price difference between the rental company and the price on Zuzuche, which is completely unacceptable to me!

There was no 7-seater Mercedes van at the Hertz location in Frankfurt Airport, they gave me a Ford instead. When I wanted to switch, the staff said it was the only option, and it was diesel. Very frustrating. The staff was enthusiastic, but it felt fake. They pushed for full insurance, about 40 euros per day. When I went to pick up the car, the man there was really irresponsible, just reading an e-book and not helping me find a child seat. When I found out there was no child seat in the car, I went back to him and he finally got one for me. He asked if I wanted a booster seat, and I thought, I paid an extra 55 euros and this is what I get? In the end, I chose a child seat for ages 3-12 (not an ISOFIX one, just secured with a seatbelt).

We rented a car from HERTZ. The process was quite convenient and the staff were very friendly and nice. They checked our order, driver's license, age, and driving experience. The staff of the big company had a pretty good work attitude.

Hertz's overall service was terrible. We had to wait in line for more than half an hour at Frankfurt Airport to pick up the car, only to find out that their store's computer system and POS machine were both down. They said they needed to do a pre-authorization over the phone. After showing them three cards, they finally said it was successful. However, we received bank messages showing pre-authorization on all three cards. They provided incorrect parking information, making us search for the car for quite some time, and eventually, we got help from staff from another rental company to find the car on an upper level. When returning the car at the Frankfurt city center location, I requested a receipt and was told to come back the next day. When I went the next day, they said they would check immediately and to come back in 20 minutes. After waiting 20 minutes and returning, the counter staff had already left. A neighboring rental company employee said he received an emergency call and had to leave. We had to go back a third day and were presented with a bill over 600 euros higher than our booking. When we discussed the incorrect charges with the staff, they told us that they billed according to the computer records and advised us to call customer service. We had to fly back to our home country that day, so we could only handle the issue after returning. Overall, this was a terrible car rental experience.
