The car rental location was poorly managed, and I waited in line for over an hour. This was the first time in over ten years of renting cars abroad that I experienced this. When it was finally my turn, the staff couldn’t locate the car and started discussing options with me. It seemed like the car model I reserved didn’t matter, and they would just give me whatever was available. I originally booked a Ford Focus because I had two 24-inch suitcases and a large backpack, but they insisted I take a Mini. I mentioned that my luggage wouldn’t fit, and the staff said the system showed a Focus was available, but he really couldn’t find it. After a lot of effort, we managed to squeeze the luggage into the trunk by forcefully pressing it down to shut the door. When I asked the staff what kind of fuel the car needed, they didn’t know and told me to check the contract. The car was brand new but lacked a backup camera and adaptive cruise control, which I could tolerate. However, five minutes after driving off, a warning light came on indicating low tire pressure. I just dealt with it until I returned the car. Returning the car was very quick, though. The staff completely ignored the warning light. Judging by how busy they were, I assumed they’d hand the car to the next customer without proper inspection.
