The vehicle was overall fine to use, but during the process the front desk staff charged extra fees without informing us. When we pointed it out, they explained that they had included fuel charges and towing fees in the bill. We emphasized that we would refill the fuel ourselves upon returning the car and that we didn't need the towing service. However, the staff repeatedly confirmed whether we were sure about canceling the towing fee, saying that with snow approaching, arranging towing ourselves would cost more than their offer. After returning the car, our credit card was still charged an additional $200, and we have yet to receive a receipt explaining the charges. We plan to follow up with Dollar on this matter in the coming days.
The overall service was good and fairly clear. The only downside is that adding an extra driver requires additional payment, which is something companies like LingsCar don’t charge for.
We waited for 90 minutes in the queue at Dollar, clearly there was not enough counter staff on that day. When we finally got to the front, we were told that our vehicle class would not be available for another 45 minutes which was extremely disappointing after the 90 minute wait. The only option to speed this up was to pay $13 / day more to move up a class. We expressed extreme dissatisfaction with this, and explained that the upgrade should have been free if our vehicle wasn't available. The lady behind the counter insisted that a paid upgrade was the best that we could do. We felt like this was up-selling. We were also felt like the automatic toll road payment was upsold to us. She explained 'its difficult for foreigners to pay', which we feel is nonsense. As we were out of the city the whole time it was probably unnecessary for us to have it, but we did, and we upgraded our car as we had been waiting so long that we had had enough. When we got to the garage there seemed to be one of our original classes of vehicle parked there. Dreadful customer service, dreadful wait. I will now avoid Dollar like the plague

I added an accidental insurance for $8.99 per day. Since the staff helped upgrade the vehicle model, it was worth it overall. I didn't opt for the fuel package or toll pass.
There is no Chinese service, which is very inconvenient. We are not proficient in English, so communication with the rental staff was problematic. We were not aware that not renting an EPASS would lead to so many additional fees. The platform should inform users about this.
Very dissatisfied. They kept pushing insurance despite me clearly refusing. Ended up spending a lot more money. Will never use Dollar car rental again. Terrible service.
