The rental service already provides third-party insurance, but they'll tell you it's not included and suggest you buy it. Insist on not buying it. Make sure to check the charges carefully when picking up the car. If there's any issue, contact customer support.

Even though I took the maximum on insurance the counter staff person said I was not fully insured and advised I take extra insurance - which I did. I then hired another car that I also booked via easy car and this was fully insured. Why the difference - I will see with my next car hire if this follows the Boston hire or the Minneapolis car hire.
