Return charging nightmare

Very friendly German guy, very thorough in checking the car. Thumbs up!

The staff were initially quite enthusiastic, but later they recommended insurance worth about 200 euros. We showed her the rental agreement and explained that we had already purchased collision coverage in our country, but the staff said that the insurance bought domestically wouldn't cover it here. She emphasized that even a minor scratch would have to be compensated for if we didn't buy their insurance. With no other option, and after nearly an hour of trying to contact the rental company (the phone numbers provided couldn't be reached abroad), the staff became very impatient with the time we were taking. We ended up reluctantly purchasing the 200-euro insurance. We had originally booked an automatic car, but they gave us a manual one. Fortunately, the German staff who helped us pick up the car quickly arranged for us to switch to an automatic vehicle.

Very professional and helpful

The airport reception point is easy to find, the paperwork is quick, and picking up and returning the car is very convenient.

I was completely dissatisfied with thirfty at Munich airport. Both the counter attendant and the manager I asked to speak to were disrespectful, poor and told lies. They attempted to make it my problem, when clearly they were trying to rip me off.
