The car is a Japanese import with a 4WD version, easily handling the road conditions in the South Island. No need to worry about choosing an SUV, it's sufficient. There's plenty of space for two people.
The service was standard, but the car was old and not smooth. Felt like the insurance purchased on-site was a rip-off—$40 per day yet not zero deductible, with a deductible of $500.
Fantastic. The owner warmly welcomed us and thoroughly explained the local traffic rules. When we returned the car without a full tank due to our own oversight, the owner kindly helped resolve the issue.
