The car pickup point at Paris Montparnasse is a bit tricky for those unfamiliar with the area because there are no signs or indicators on the street. You need to go down to the metro station parking area to find the rental company's office, which is easily noticeable. The staff at the office are very friendly and will explain the specifics of renting, such as which fuel to use and the extra charges for late returns. Overall, very professional. Returning the car in Lyon was relatively smooth, with minor hiccups in locating the parking lot. After initially parking in an adjacent lot, I walked to find the exact location. The return process was quick. Overall, I would rent from Eurocar again. Additionally, I had booked a Citroen C3 but was given a spacious Fiat SUV at pickup. The reverse gear on the Fiat manual transmission requires lifting a ring on the gear lever before shifting into first gear. Since I hadn't driven a Fiat before, I asked a passing driver for help. I received a lot of friendly assistance along the way, such as help with refueling, paying highway tolls, and parking on the roadside.

I wanted to experience the European version of a car. I initially booked a Toyota Yaris (completely different from the one in China), but ended up with a Peugeot 208. Since this car isn't available in China, I gladly accepted it. The staff was friendly and efficient. It was my first time renting a car in a developed country. The paperwork was completed quickly, and they handed me the keys and pointed out the parking spot. No one helped me find, inspect, or check the car. Although the car was supposed to have a full tank, it was actually half a gauge short. I'm not sure if this is normal. It was quite challenging to drive out of Charles de Gaulle Airport's rental area (mainly because I don't understand French), as the signs were unclear. It took me two loops around the terminal ramps to finally get out. Overall, I still highly recommend EUROPCAR's service.

Apart from the annoying upsells, everything was fine. We got two booster seats (without backrests) for children. We booked a car similar to a Sharan and received a brand new (15000 km) Renault Intiale. The electronic control system is comprehensive, featuring power folding seats in the last two rows, a power tailgate, keyless entry, auto-lock, a heads-up display, automatic speed and distance recognition, and an emergency brake system (which we didn't need to use). There's also a touch screen the size of an iPad with excellent navigation, much more reliable than a phone's GPS, likely capable of estimating the position in tunnels based on the car's mileage.

Comptoir mal organisé. On découvre qu'il faut prendre un numéro un peu par hasard, c'est mal indiqué. Les gens entassés dans un espace très restreint et une attente de plus d'une heure pour récupérer le véhicule. Extrêmement désagréable. Évidemment au service les préposés semblent débordés. Leur système n'est même pas informatisé. J'avais demandé une Peugeot 308 et j'ai eu une Renault Captur. Et on m'attribue cette voiture en fouillant dans des papiers pour voir ce qu'il reste. On ne se sent pas servis par un système professionnel. Je dis pour la voiture que ce n'est pas du tout la même chose. Et on me dit que c'est dans la même catégorie. (Autrement dit que je n'ai rien à dire.) Extrêmement désagréable. Au retour, le préposé ne veut pas faire le tour de la voiture pour constater son état. On doit se fier à la bonne foi de quelqu'un qui ne signe pas de bon de retour du véhicule. Je compte retourner en France tous les ans. Et y dépenser environ le même montant chaque année (plus de 800€). Si j'ai le choix, je ne voudrais plus faire affaire avec Europcar.

Très bien. Et non, le price protection n'a pas fonctionné. J'ai dû annuler ma réservation puis la refaire lorsque j'ai constaté qu'il y avait un meilleur prix qui m'économisait environ 300$. Autrement, personnel serviable et attentionné.
