I inspected the car thoroughly during pickup. When returning the car, the Hertz staff barely looked at it, showing a lot of trust. The pickup staff clearly stated that there was no need to wash the car before returning it. Additionally, considering our original drop-off point (Heathrow) was far from our accommodation (there were no ideal drop-off options for our MPV model online), they immediately helped me resolve it after discussing. They were very patient. Later, I found the new drop-off point was only 200-300 meters from the hotel, which was great. They also didn't try to sell me any insurance. The Ford Galaxy 7-seater was a new model, with limited space efficiency (couldn't get a Sharan). The trunk was especially cramped, and the trunk cover had no place to store except underfoot. On the positive side, the diesel engine had sufficient power, the automatic transmission was responsive, the steering was extremely precise with little play, and the suspension was supportive yet resilient. This was a blessing on the narrow, hilly, winding roads in the UK, making the driving experience very enjoyable.

Upgraded at Hertz, absolutely delightful gentlemen at Guildford who went above and beyond to explain car and return process which was after hours on a Sunday. Really delightful.

Easy to book a car at a very competitive rate.

Due to a flight change (out my control), I arrived 5 hours earlier than expected. Although, I have a 7 month old baby, the initial view of check-in desk staff was for us to wait a total of 5 hours before we were able to pick-up the car (unless I was willing to pay for an upgrade). Only after speaking to the manager, who clearly understood that you can't have a 7 month-old baby waiting for 5 hours, we were offered a small SUV that was immediately ready. Somehow this car was ready, while originally it wasn't available. This was appealing and this made the whole experience pretty bad.

The booking platform was good, but as flights change, I would suggest a functionality that allows you to change the time of the booking easier without affecting the price (if the time is within a certain period)

Dislike: Please ensure all extras are included in your quotes. They can hit you for 40 lb plus’s tax for a one way fee. Double check or photo your car before leaving. They are ruthless regarding damage!
