Because the POS machine couldn’t process any credit card from various banks and cash was not accepted, I ended up not being able to rent the car.

Location d'une véhicule totalement neuve (seulement 6 kms au compteur), exceptionnel, et fonctionnant au SuperEthanol, exceptionnel également. Véhicule spacieux et agréable à conduire en ville, sur route et sur autoroute. Satisfaction totale, je remercie le personnel de l'agence Europcar de Besançon, compétent, sympathique et attentif.

Europcar gave us a smaller car than we ordered which was not a problem - what was a problem was that the car was covered in scratches and marks, most of which were not on the contract - when I pointed this out the service person just said to take some photos- this was not satisfactory but we were short of time so ADIS just that - I’m addition the car was not cleaned outside or inside - it looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned properly for ages - and finally when we returned the car back to europcar Strasbourg the person there didn’t check anything saying only that it was all ok - but I now have an extra new charge on my credit card which is unexplained- it has effectively doubled the cost of the car that I paid for through EasyRentCars- I tried ringing europcar in Strasbourg but they didn’t answer so I went to their head office who advised that they needed to see bank statements and details of my complaint- I have sent them an email with these details but they will only respond within 7 business days - I find this as just a delaying tactic - I will never use europcar again as they have a reputation for this kind of post return charging - I should have paid attention to the “reviews” on europcar Strasbourg

Booked for a Peugeot 308 or similar car, got upgraded to Jeep Renegade with built-in GPS and much more space. Excellent service for the pickup process. Hassle-free return. Highly recommended!
