A small thing – I couldn't find the control for the petrol tank door. The staff member at the petrol station found it for me. During the journey, I turned the radio on. Then I decided I didn't want it after all. But there was no way I could find to turn it off. Also I didn't see any cruise control. I see this as essential for country driving.

I purchased full insurance from the rental company, so no deposit was required. The staff were very enthusiastic. It was a smooth car rental experience. Highly recommended.

The wheel alignment hadn't been done, causing the steering wheel to veer right—this wouldn't be much of an issue for experienced drivers. The insurance terms were unreasonable; if you didn't purchase additional insurance, any damage would cost AUD 5500, which felt more like a betting agreement.
