The rental company is large and easy to find near the airport. Both pickup and drop-off are quick, and payment with a regular Visa card works smoothly.
Many car rental companies are located together. First, you need to get a ticket number and wait for a few turns, which took about ten minutes. Pretty quick. The staff on site were very friendly and didn't aggressively push insurance; they simply asked whether I had insurance, as driving on narrow mountain roads like those in Amalfi or Sicily might make it necessary. This time, they emphasized the need for an international driving license and mentioned that it could result in a fine if the police checked and you didn't have one, so it's important to take note for next time. After signing the waiver and acknowledgment form, the process went smoothly. Since I had reserved a Q5, a luxury car, they kindly asked to register my return flight details as well. It seems this requirement for an international driving license and return flight information is related to renting luxury cars; I didn't encounter this in other countries before. Just sharing this as a friendly reminder to others.
Very smooth process. However, the Sicily airport branch of the same company is terrible—forced extra insurance purchase and the vehicle did not match the booked model at all.
Overall very satisfied. I purchased the QEEQ full insurance, and there was no upselling at the rental company; they just handed over the keys for me to pick up the car. The car had some scratches and minor dents, but they did not affect normal driving. These issues were already noted at the counter when picking up the car, and there were no disagreements during the return process. There was only a minor issue: the day after picking up the car, the tire pressure warning light for the left rear tire came on. I contacted QEEQ, and they provided a solution and assisted in communicating with the rental company. Later, I drove to a nearby rental branch, where the staff briefly inspected the car and said it was fine to continue driving. Not wanting to disrupt my trip, I went on my way. However, the same fault warning reappeared. After a few days of driving, worried about a potential blowout due to tire pressure issues, I found a gas station with an air pump. I inspected and adjusted the tire pressure myself, changing it from the irregular values of 4/4/4/2.1 to the standard 2.5/2.5/2.5/2.5. The warning light finally turned off. However, on the day before returning the car, the same tire pressure warning came on again, meaning the left rear tire likely had a minor air leak. This experience pushed me to learn how to handle tire pressure issues myself—so, in a way, it was a small adventure.
