The staff in Milan were really straightforward and honest, no shady tricks at all. Since I’d already bought insurance back home, they didn’t try to upsell me on any extra coverage at the counter. Just a heads-up: before you return the car, make sure you fill the tank completely, take a photo of the dashboard, and keep a photo of your fuel receipt. If you don’t refuel yourself, the rental company might hit you with random refueling charges.

Overall, the experience was quite good. The rental company's staff handled things very efficiently. However, there seemed to be a technical issue with the card swipe. Eventually, they manually entered the card details, so there was no problem with paying the deposit.
