Booked VW Golf class, Golf was on the perimeter but sales agent pretended there was no Golf and I must be mistaken, so I got a small ugly Ford. Due to need of bigger trunk (short notice) i asked for estate wagon in almost same class. Golf estate and Seat Leon estate would be available. Prebooking price would have been exactly 5 Euro more for the whole weekend. Sales agent however insisted on 35 Euro more even though they havent had many bookings for the weekend and many available cars. Didnt take the offer as it was heavily inflated without any reason. Quite a bad experience after a very good one before.

I was quite satisfied with the overall service during this car rental experience. I’d give it 5 stars. The rental price was reasonable compared to previous occasions. Besides the 300 euros deposit, there was an additional 30 euros service fee. The Volkswagen car we rented was manufactured in 2024 and had only 2,100 kilometers on it when we picked it up—a brand-new car. We booked the car pickup for 9:00 AM and arrived a bit earlier, but the counter staff told us to come back at exactly 9:00 AM to proceed. The rental process was simple; they asked if we had insurance, we showed them our insurance documents, and they didn’t try to sell us additional coverage. Returning the car was even more convenient—just drive it into the garage, hand over the keys, and you're done. No further formalities were required. Compared to our experience with ALAMO in Zurich last June, which was a disaster, this was so much easier. From now on, we’ll rent with Europcar. Although their costs might be slightly higher, the pickup and return process is hassle-free, the cars are well-maintained, and the overall experience is reliable.

Picked up the car at midnight, service was good. However, the oil light came on and they were out of spare oil, so we had to go to a gas station to add oil. Fortunately, we insisted that they come with us, and it took visits to two gas stations to find oil. Speaking English didn't work well in the German-speaking region. Schengen area at midnight, not easy.

This car rental experience was a disaster. I wouldn't even give them one star!!! It's a miracle Europcar hasn't gone bankrupt yet!! We booked a Volkswagen Golf in Frankfurt. The staff didn't enter our order into the system, and the car they gave us was broken. We didn't check carefully when picking it up and only realized the door wouldn't lock after reaching Heidelberg. Problems can happen, but what disappointed us most was Europcar's terrible service attitude. They completely ignored us. I asked the local Europcar in Heidelberg to change the car, but the staff just gave me the runaround, saying there were no cars and that our order wasn't in the system, telling me to fix it myself. The repair shop they directed me to said they didn't have the parts and couldn't repair it, advising us to go back to Europcar. Holding back my anger, I went back, and the staff just said, 'Oh, there's nothing I can do.' Is this really an attitude for solving problems??? Unable to endure it further, I contacted Zuzuche's customer service. Europcar's staff even refused to take their call!!! Do they think they can bully Chinese people easily? Finally, we drove to Stuttgart's Europcar to change the car. Initially, the local staff said yes and took my keys. But when I asked for a new car key, he changed his mind, saying our order wasn't in the system and he couldn't give me the key. I had to call headquarters and negotiate for a long time, waiting forever for them to enter the order before I got a car. And the replacement car wasn't even automatic (clearly stated in my order and repeatedly emphasized to the staff). Due to Europcar's staff mistakes, laziness, arrogance, and the car's issues, we wasted two whole days of our trip. I hope everyone can be cautious and not give money to such unscrupulous companies.
