営業所に着いてから15分ほど待ちました。
タッチパネルでの受付機が4台ほどありましたが誰も使ってませんでした。
予約していたらマシンでもスムーズに出来そうなので次回からは機械でしたいと思います。（日本語対応なので）
カウンターはアップグレードや保険やガソリン買い取り式やナビなどひと通りセールスはありましたが断ればそれ以上強く勧めて来ることも無いです。一応言えと会社の方針で言われているのでしょう。
なので返却時の確認スタッフに渡されたレシートには余分の請求は＄０．００になってました。
予約時に表示されている金額のみの請求でした。

我々の人数と荷物のボリュームを見た出発店のスタッフの勧めで、エスカレードへ割安に有償グレードアップを紹介してくれました。
４年ほど所有していたので乗りなれていましたが、予約サイトでは２倍位のレンタル料金の差が有り諦めていました。
実際に予約車輛では空港からホテルまではスーツケースを抱いての乗車覚悟したので助かりました。
また、エスカレードのナビはスマホのグーグルと連動可能なので日本語ナビは不要となり、結果、トータルのレンタル料は差額が１日１０ドル程でお得にラッキーでした。

完全に英語のみだったので受付が不安でしたが、受付の方に上手く対応して貰えました。
そのあとに勝手に車に乗っていってというスタンスだったので、案内もされず乗っていっていいのか戸惑いました。
またホノルル空港からのシャトルバスが何処にあるのか分からず30分程迷いましたが、空港の方がレンタカーシャトルバスの乗る場所を教えて貰い何とか乗れました。

入国手続きが思ったより早く済み、COに１時間早かったが、CIも１時間早くすることで、追加料金なくレンタルできました。よって予約時の車と違い空いてる車から選択可というシステムも思いがけず良かったです。日本のように事前にスタッフとキズ等のチェックはなく、自分自身で確認。キズ等箇所あれば写真撮りということが、後でわかりました。CI時にはそのダメージを問われましたが、CO時スタッフから確認されましたが、事前からだよということでOKでした。

The staff saw that there were three of us and suggested upgrading to a Fullsize car. After using it, I felt that since I was only using the car for two days on Oahu, the upgrade wasn't necessary. The staff also recommended a service called Roadside Plus for $4.99/day, which provides emergency assistance if the keys are locked inside the car or in case of a flat tire. Later, I thought as long as I carefully manage the keys, the additional service wasn't necessary. Overall, I felt the company's staff were too eager to upsell extra services, which was not very good.

I arrived quite late, but there was a free shuttle from the airport to the rental office. The queue was reasonably fast, and the staff was quite friendly. They tried to sell me an upgrade and extra insurance, but I declined. There were two staff members at the car lot who let me choose my vehicle. By the time I got there, only a Sonata and a Charger were left. I quickly chose the Charger (the new model Charger is really cool!). I'm glad I didn't go for the convertible, as it rained nearly every day after I arrived.

The service staff kept trying to add extras even when I said no. She wasted half an hour. There were only Camaros, not Mustangs. The trunk was very small, so I ended up paying an extra 800 RMB to switch to a Jeep Cherokee. If I had known, I would have booked a Cherokee in China for 1100 RMB less. It feels like they're taking advantage of Chinese customers. I won't choose ALAMO again.

There is a free Alamo shuttle right outside the airport with frequent service. The rental office has both self-service kiosks and regular desks with a short wait time. The staff member who assisted me was very friendly. He suggested I upgrade the car because I had 4 large suitcases. Although I had reserved a full-size car like a Ford Fusion, he offered me the largest car in the same category, a Chevrolet. I checked if my luggage fit, and it did, saving me the upgrade cost ($40/day). He also recommended adding roadside assistance for $5 a day, which is helpful when you're traveling. He suggested prepaying for fuel since there are few gas stations around the rental location (some are under repair, some closed, and some far away). Taking his advice, I prepaid, but it turns out it's better to refuel on your own. While the price per gallon was similar, the estimate of the remaining fuel wasn't precise. However, factoring in the labor cost of refueling, I went with the prepay option.

Brand new 2015 Mustang Convertible with only 15 miles on it when picked up! Feels like a steal! Got an extra tank of gas for just $44, much cheaper than back home.
Staff's attitude was similar to what you'd find back home, just average.
Returning the car was quite convenient. Parked the car and let them check the fuel gauge and odometer, then I was done.
Shuttle buses were available for pickup and drop off, and the wait time wasn't long.

Alamo on Oahu is about a ten-minute drive from Honolulu International Airport, with a shuttle bus provided by Alamo. However, the driver of the return shuttle to the airport misunderstood our accent and dropped us off at the international departure hall, although we were actually flying with Iceland Air to the Big Island. Iceland Air's counter is next to the Hawaiian Airlines entrance in an inconspicuous row of low buildings. We walked for about fifteen minutes from the international departure hall, asking for directions along the way. Luckily, we had plenty of time, but it was still quite stressful.
The wait time in line wasn't long; we were attended to right after the previous customer finished. Since we had just arrived in Hawaii, we weren't very familiar with the car rental process and policies. We asked a lot of questions, and the staff patiently answered all of them. It was our first time picking up a car, so we had many questions about the car's condition. Thanks to the staff's patience, we felt confident enough to start our trip.

You need to take a shuttle bus from the airport, and there are no clear signs at the airport stop, making it easy to miss. They pushed full insurance at an extra $15 per day. There are many car models to choose from. There were a lot of people picking up cars, so you have to queue. Overall, it was pretty good as I've used Alamo before and am familiar with their process. The staff informed us that the reserved car only had basic insurance and asked if we needed additional coverage. After we declined, they did not push us further, only reminded us to drive carefully at our own risk. There were few compact cars available, but the small car was very economical, only consuming two fuel bars over two days. A $10 refuel before returning the car was enough to fill it up. Not opting for a full tank return was a wise decision.
Upon returning the car to the store, they checked the fuel level and vehicle condition, and told us we were good to go within a minute. Very efficient.

Alamo in Honolulu is huge, the staff is very nice, and the responsibilities are clearly divided: front desk handles paperwork, parking lot handles car delivery, and there's an exit registration for car inspection. However, I was not satisfied this time because the front desk secretly upgraded the luxury model. Since it was still within the full-size SUV category I originally booked, I didn't notice. Moreover, the contract indicated an upgrade period longer by one day than my actual rental period. I thought it was just a general note and didn't ask more questions, but eventually, there was an additional $25 daily upgrade fee.

When I rented a car in Japan from another company, they explained traffic rules in detail and what to do in case of an accident, what type of fuel to use, etc. Here, they just kept pushing the insurance.

The process was very simple, but the rental staff will routinely ask if you want to add insurance or pre-purchase a tank of gas, etc. I understand it's their job, just say NO and they won't pressure you. There was almost no waiting, and the whole process, including getting the car, took about 15 minutes, which was very smooth.

There was clearly an orange car, but they insisted it was dirty. When I went back to take a photo to prove it was clean, they called security through the intercom to stop me. I was already sitting in the car, and they said I could upgrade and switch cars. If the car was sterile, why switch after I’ve already sat in it and then give it to someone else? That's so irresponsible and sloppy.
