The car’s performance was really nothing special. Once you picked up a bit of speed it started to feel unstable, almost like it was drifting. When I returned it, the staff tried to make a fuss over a tiny scratch, but luckily I had everything recorded on video. Compared with rental companies back home, there’s definitely a gap in experience.
Super happy with this rental. The exact car I booked was the one I got. Since they’re Chinese themselves, communication was really smooth and everything was straightforward, plus none of that hard-sell insurance stuff you often get from foreign rental companies. Best part is they can handle all the cross-border paperwork (NOC), so it was super convenient to self-drive to Oman.
It was our first time renting a car overseas and everything went really smoothly. Pick-up was very quick, and the staff clearly walked us through all the details. The car we got was exactly the model we booked on the platform, and it was in pretty good condition. Our friends who drove it all felt it handled well. Returning the car was just as smooth: they checked it quickly and told us on the spot that both the car condition and fuel level were all good. After we got back home, we soon received the toll and parking bills, and as soon as everything was settled, our deposit was unfrozen right away. This city is by the sea, so the car got covered in bird droppings when parked outside. We thought we’d be charged a cleaning fee, but there was none—clearly the rental company understands that bird mess is just part of being in a coastal city and not something we did on purpose, which felt very considerate.
Overall the rental experience was great – the car was in good condition, pretty new, and they were really friendly to Chinese customers. When we returned the car, the two Cantonese guys there were super nice and very professional, seriously thumbs up. The only downside was a little incident at pickup: the guy handling our car was a bit careless and forgot to give us the documents we needed for Oman, so we had to drive 10 km back to get them. He also kept mentioning extra charges for this and that, which made us feel a bit uneasy right after landing, even though we didn’t end up paying anything extra. At one point we really wondered if this company was reliable, but the great service from the two Cantonese staff at drop-off totally turned things around.
Pickup was super smooth and easy to find just by following the signs. They didn’t push any extra insurance at all, just reminded me the booking only included the basic coverage from the rental company.
Really happy with this rental company. My flight landed in the middle of the night and the staff were still super friendly, patient and attentive, with no pushy upselling at all.
As soon as you walk out of the airport, there’s a car rental counter on the left, but that’s for walk‑in rentals, not the one we booked. Our pickup location was inside the Car Rental area in the parking lot. Check‑in at the counter was great – whenever we didn’t understand something in English, they actually helped translate and clearly went through all the terms. Getting the car was smooth too. We tipped the staff 10 AED, and he patiently explained the key traffic rules. The vehicle inspection was fine, we just uploaded the photos to the app, then he gave us a QR code parking ticket – scan it at the barrier and you can drive straight out.
Tip: use Google Maps Street View in advance to get familiar with the roads and signs so you don’t get lost. Personally, I found Google Maps navigation a bit unfriendly for Chinese users, so I switched to Amap (Gaode). It was almost flawless. Using Amap’s real‑time navigation (not offline), we drove for about 2 hours and only used around 400 MB of data – very efficient. With a 2 GB/day high‑speed data plan, it’s more than enough.
The only small hiccup: on the fourth day, the dashboard showed a low key fob battery warning. I didn’t contact the rental office; I just bought a CR2032 battery at a supermarket and replaced it myself. I did reach out to QEEQ customer service, and they called back promptly to check in. I told them I’d already fixed it by changing the battery, and they still followed up very patiently. Overall, it was a really pleasant experience. (I brought my own dashcam with a suction mount, not adhesive – quick wiring and it worked perfectly.)
