Pick-up Instructions

The Apex - Queenstown Airport car rental location is located out of the airport

Please contact the staff to pick you up to Apex - Queenstown Airport car rental when you arrived.

1. Upon arrival at Queenstown International Airport, phone our toll free number 0800 304 300 and let us know that you're ready to be picked up. 2. Exit the terminal turning right and head towards the departure area. 3. When the van arrives, our driver will load your luggage into the back of the van or into a trailer. 4. Please tell the driver your name and show him your confirmation (if required). 5. Our location is two minutes drive from the airport terminal. Walking to Apex Queenstown Airport 1. Please Note: If the weather is fine and you don't feel like waiting for the shuttle van, Apex is only a short walk (approx. 5 minutes) from the airport terminal. 2. Exit the terminal area on Sir Henry Wigley Drive and turn left at the second round about onto Lucas Place. 3. Apex is located 250 metres down Lucas Place on the right.

Drop-off Instructions

Please return to the office at: 32 Lucas Place, Frankton 9300. Then take the shuttle back to the airport.

    Good car, comfortable, good experience. Staff is able to help by telephone, everything oké. Either at the third party rentals website or at Apex it would be good to mention better that an English drivers licence is needed in New Zealand to prevent any surprises at the counter!

    This car was fairly old and probably should be taken out of service. It has over 150,000 km in it and does not have some of the now basic options of most cars like cruise control, usb plug and backup camera. The car did the job, but felt a bit clunky so I was sometimes scared it would break down on me.

    It wasn’t for this particular experience but for another incident that we had a lot trouble picking up the rental vehicle. This was in Gold Coast Australia. Our pick up time was at 4pm but we couldn’t arrive until 5:15pm. No one from apex was available because it has closed. We couldn’t pick up the car until the next day. It brought a lot of headache and anxiety. I do emphasize that when you book online for future reservations please make it in BOLD letters or an extra prompt indicating that we need to pay extra for after hour services and to indicate the time of your closing. That was a very unfortunate experience when we arrived at the parking lot to only find out it was closed and this was after we called 5 times without an answer.

    one of the car tires was not safe to drive and i suffered a side-wall blow out. Luckily, i was able to change the (small) spare and get to a service facility. Apex didn't give the best advice by phone, but when I returned with a receipt of service and the original tire, they quickly and professionally credited me for the charge I incurred.

    I paid for a GPS for the trip as I didnt want to pay to use the internet on my phone due to being overseas but Apex does not offer any GPS. I also waited for an hour in the pick up zone outside, called 10-15 times and got nothing. I ended up walking in the rain to find the place.

    I was initially given ford focus but AC was not working and there was bad smell. They did change the vehicle but they were not sorry about it and I had to waste 2 hours of my time there. Moreover, they want initial vehicle to be have 100% fuel even though exchange of vehicle is not my fault. About the second car - it was good.
