The waiting time for picking up the car was a bit long, but the return process was very convenient. Just follow the navigation. It didn't delay my next flight. The car was relatively new.
The car pickup location is in the city center, with the store situated on the street level. Pickup is on the fourth basement floor, and drop-off is on the third basement floor, with clear signs that make it easy to locate. I did a self-service drop-off at night, placed the car keys in the designated box, and took photos and videos for record-keeping. The car pickup process was very convenient, and no insurance upselling occurred. The vehicle was nearly new, having been driven for over 16,000 kilometers. It was equipped with full-time four-wheel drive, though the fuel consumption was a bit high. Fortunately, gas prices in Canada are cheaper than in China, with the cheapest fuel found in Toronto and the most expensive in Quebec. Additionally, nighttime fuel discounts are available. The road conditions throughout were excellent, making it a good choice for first-time self-driving trips abroad.
The service was excellent, and the car inspection was thorough. Make sure to take detailed photos of the vehicle from all angles in advance and note any scratches on the car body to avoid future issues.
Steven, the manager at Dollar Rent a Car at Vancouver International Airport, proactively helped us locate the car in the parking lot and assisted in placing a 23-kilogram suitcase into the vehicle. During the rental period, when the car key was accidentally locked in the trunk, Steven took the initiative to call Nissan's service hotline and coordinate with Rusty Towing to resolve the issue promptly. Truly commendable service.
The process is very quick. As usual, they try to sell you full insurance, but you can simply decline. The procedures are efficient, and the vehicle was in excellent condition—clean with no odors. The return inspection was also fast, and there was no detailed inspection with a flashlight.
Rented the car at Vancouver Airport and returned it at Calgary Airport. The pick-up and drop-off locations were easy to find, as all the rental companies operate in the same hall. Originally booked a Toyota Corolla but upgraded to a Malibu for an additional CAD 20/day, which wasn’t expensive. The American version of the Malibu has strong power, reaching 120 km/h with only slight acceleration.
The pick-up and return staff were enthusiastic, professional, and efficient. They provided me with a new car, which exceeded my expectations. I am very satisfied.
The location is easy to find. Picking up the car went smoothly. Returning the car followed the signs. At the parking lot, the inspection took less than a minute, very seamless.
