“Ordering and picking the car perfect. Returning the car annoying and infuriating.”
About Buchbinder:10.0/10
It wasn't Buchbinder (they were bought by Europcar?).
Be careful in the return process because they will "find" you an invisible scratch that you will never be able to trace (like under the baggage hood) to charge you for handling and fixing fees.
No details of company or that you had to go to europacar
Brought your insurance onlu to find out i had to buy europacars insurance as well!
Europacar also would not take cc payment without a pin even thoigh card was present
About QEEQ:7.0/10
Price was good
Lots of hidden extras that then bumped the price back up
Buchbinder is the worst rental car company in the airport imho. They offered a much lower class car instead of the premium one we reserved. They stated that its actually a better car because its bigger in size. We ended up trying to cancel with a fee. I would never go with them
We rented a 7-seater van, but this rental company initially gave us a 9-seater without informing us beforehand. After spending a lot of effort locating the car, we found out it was a 9-seater. The vehicle was quite large, and we had never driven something that size before. We went back to the staff to request a replacement, but they said there were no 7-seaters available. We insisted on canceling the rental, and then they asked us to wait while they checked again. After about half an hour, they said they had found a 7-seater by chance. It wasn't until the end of our trip that we realized the 9-seater couldn't even fit into underground parking lots because of Germany's strict parking size regulations. Overall, we were not very impressed with this rental company.
Overall, it was okay. The car was new, having just over 10,000 kilometers on it. The vehicle was in good condition. However, the customer service insisted on adding insurance when we picked up the car. We initially chose the secondary insurance, but they said German roads are narrow and that even if we didn't hit someone, others might hit us. We had to add an extra €198 for insurance. They also recommended more expensive cars like BMW, even though we repeatedly declined. This was quite uncomfortable. The car pickup process took almost two hours, likely because the rental company is small. It might be considered big in Germany. Returning the car took a long time as well since it was hard to find the return location. Most major rental companies are at the train station, but this company's prices were reasonable. In the US, we never encounter such issues. After landing, rental companies are inside the airport, and you can get the car quickly. Germany's process is slightly more complicated. However, returning the car was quick. After handing over the keys, they checked the car inside and out, including the fuel. It was a fast process. Thumbs up for that.
