Extremely satisfied! On the day we went to the South Island, there was heavy snow in the mountains. We rented a compact car, and the staff at the store kept reminding us to be cautious. Picking up and returning the car was very convenient and faster than expected, barely taking any time. The rental service was located right outside the airport and easy to spot. I didn’t get the Camry I booked and was given a Subaru instead. The accelerator felt a bit sensitive, but it struggled to gain power uphill. Not sure if it’s the model or just this particular car. Overall, the service was pretty good.

The rental staff were very friendly and gave us a brand-new pickup truck with just over 1,000 kilometers on it. The truck bed had a cover, providing a large storage space. We easily fit three suitcases inside with plenty of room to spare. The vehicle had great power, and we felt completely at ease even when driving through waterlogged roads while exploring several national parks. The return process was very efficient—they only asked if the tank was refueled and refunded the deposit quickly in no time.

The store is convenient to locate. Returning the car was especially easy, just handed over the keys and that's it. However, the car model I reserved did not match the one I received; the actual vehicle was a Ford. Additionally, I had booked a compact SUV expecting unrestricted routes, but when I got the car, I was informed that I couldn't go to Deer Garden Heights and Paradise Road, which disrupted my plans.

After picking up my luggage, the rental car store was right next to me. The staff checked my driver's license and verification documents, filled out some information, and gave me the keys. Exit through Gate 5 to find the parking lot, and the location provided by the staff made it easy to locate the car. The new car was clean, comfortable, and in excellent condition. When returning the car, simply park it, hand the key back at the store counter, and answer whether the tank is full. That’s it.

Renting a car was very convenient. Although the rental location is not inside the airport, there is a shuttle bus from Christchurch Airport's Gate 4. After calling, it only took about 10 minutes for the shuttle to arrive, which was very convenient. The rental process was quick as long as you completed online check-in in advance. On-site, you only needed to confirm a few details. It was raining heavily that day, and the staff at the rental office kindly drove the car to the front door for us. Our own phone mount was not sticky enough to use, but the staff generously gave us one for free. The overall experience was excellent. Another highlight was the one-way rental. We picked up the car in Christchurch and returned it in Queenstown. The Queenstown branch is near the airport, and during business hours, you can even take a complimentary shuttle back to the airport after returning the car. Overall, the experience was amazing. If you are experienced, self-driving in New Zealand is truly incredible because the best views in NZ are not in the attractions but on the roads. There are many small turn-offs along the way where you can stop temporarily to admire the mountains, snow-capped peaks, lakes, grasslands, and flocks of sheep and cattle.

The car was relatively new and the staff were decent, so overall I was satisfied. However, the return time was originally booked for 8 PM, and there was a 50 yuan charge for returning the car outside of working hours. Due to schedule changes, I returned it before 5 PM. QEEQ had previously stated that early returns would not result in refunds, which I hadn't noticed. But the store clerk wrote 5:05 on the final invoice (when I returned the car, handed over the keys, and was told it was fine since it was close to their closing time; they then sent us to the airport via shuttle bus). Later, I received the invoice via email and saw the recorded time as 5:05. The agreement terms were followed, and I have no objection to sticking to the contract even if the money isn't refunded. However, the way they documented it still feels slightly uncomfortable to me.

The rental car counter is conveniently located to the left right after baggage claim. Returning the car is simple - just drop the keys in the designated mailbox in the parking lot or at the counter's dropbox. The staff on-site recommended upgrading to a Lexus RX AWD with built-in GPS navigation, which saved us a lot of hassle during our road trip. The built-in navigation had accurate information, speed limit reminders, and assisted driving features. We also upgraded to full insurance and added an additional driver, and the overall cost was very reasonable! This experience was truly fantastic!!

As I stated above, the car given to us was smaller than what we booked. The counter staff members were not accommodative to our request for a slightly bigger car as we had more baggage, which was supposed to fit well in the car we had booked. Also, we had to pay a speeding fine of NZD 30 through SNAP that charged us NZD 50 as administrative charge, which was a rip off! The staff at the counter was not particularly friendly and took longer time to attend to me particularly when I returned the car.

Upon arriving in Christchurch, we immediately called the rental company, and shortly after, a car with the company's logo came to pick us up. We were attended to by a girl from Taiwan. She was beautiful, enthusiastic, and generously helped us fill out the forms. She provided us with many suggestions and assistance. She was professional, helpful, and both picking up and returning the car went smoothly. We noticed there were many people renting cars in Christchurch, and the staff seemed relatively few.

The car I picked up was not the same as the one I had booked. This was very disappointing. The person at the pick up location was not able to provide any information about this and the contact from Koocar was available only by phone and did not pick up when I called. they then responded by text and were quite rude. Koocar would also not allow me to take the car without signing onto additional insurance.

Car was severely damaged from previous rentals (cosmetic only) and was in a poor condition. Windscreen chips /cracks should have resulted in a new windscreen being fitted. Oil warning light was on and we were advised the firm didn't have the equipment to take it off. No clear policy on what constitutes damage or not (even when the car is quite damaged already). No deposit taken for car.

Service was terrible. When drop off the car, the service lady insisted there were scratches and asked for penalty. I wiped off the scratches as they were just dirt. That lady insisted there was a chip on the windshield and asked for penalty as well. I explained it was evidenced on check in and that was not caused by me. However I still received a letter claiming $120 repair fee for that tiny 10mm chip. The company is clearly cheating the money!

Car was old, dented body work, quite dirty, and very noisy to drive, not great suspension. We quickly realised why it was so much cheaper than the other care hire places. Staff friendly but clearly not enough of them and low staff morale. On our arrival they initially told us we'd have to wait two hours after the scheduled pick up time for our car to be ready. After a 36 hr plane journey from Europe with 3 small children this was completely unacceptable. We said so and they somehow rustled up a far in 20 minutes... Tank wasn't full but they were relaxed about it.

I was stoked with $117 for a "corolla or similar" for 4 days but of course that was too good to be true, I got a sluggish Hyundai Accent instead. Still good value I suppose. The staff were ok but didnt go out of their way at all. I wasnt explained the drop off location and had to leave cash for parking as I dropped it in the wrong spot and didnt have time to move it. I left my phone in the car and had to wait half a day for them to retrieve it and then arrange my own courier.

They did not have the car I requested, and tried to "upgrade"me to a larger car. Unfortunately, bigger does not always mean better when hiring cars to drive around an unfamiliar city. They then tried to give me a car that cost more per day. Eventually, they managed to "find" a car that was more suitable -- why it was not offered in the first place is a bit of a mystery.

Our flight information changed the morning we were leaving the USA for our trip, which was two days before we attempted to pick up the car. I called right cars, knowing there was a time difference and it was late at night in New Zealand, however I wanted to confirm the change in pickup time as soon as I found out the flight information changed. We were originally to land around 1pm, and it changed to land at 11pm. A man answered who said he was working from home, and I told him I wanted to make sure we could pick up when we landed even if it was at night outside of office hours. He confirmed, saying that he was going to be on shift at that time. When we landed, I called for the shuttle and the same man told me no one was there, that I was supposed to pick up the car at 11am THE NEXT DAY. I told him that I could not come back the next day, that I specifically checked with him that i could pick it up at night and he insisted that the pickup time was set for 11am. I told him to cancel the car, and went to an airport desk to rent a car that I could take straightaway. When I called to get a refund the next day, I was told I had to go through the booking company. I called and was told I was marked a no-show, so I could not get a refund. I called the owner of Right Cars and he said he would have to do some investigating, but I have heard nothing since.

Due to a flight delay, I arrived late at night and couldn't pick up the car that day. The next morning, I called the rental company, and the owner personally drove to my hotel to take me to the office for the paperwork and car pick-up. The owner also drove me back to the hotel when I returned the car. Quite an experience! (It's a small company with limited staff.) Haha.

Both pickup and dropoff were at the giant Hertz company, amazing! I rented a Corolla but was given a high-end Mazda 3 with less than 40,000 kilometers and cruise control. It made the journey much easier. This car rental experience was awesome.

They do not accept VISA credit cards, which caused an issue when I arrived because they wouldn't let me rent a car. They said they couldn't process the card and suggested taking me to other rental companies. After negotiating, they allowed me to pay in cash directly. So, make sure to confirm the acceptable credit card types before renting. Other than that, everything was great; the car was in good condition, and the pickup and return process was simple and convenient.
