Service was great overall, picking up and returning the car was really easy. Just be careful with your speed—Germany doesn’t really give you that comfortable 20% buffer on limits.

They didn’t push any extra insurance at all, the staff at the counter were super friendly and really reassuring. The car was very new and in great condition, and once everything checked out, they released the deposit really quickly.

I usually rent from HERTZ, but this time I went with AVIS. Overall the rental was fine and the counter staff didn’t try to upsell anything. The only issue was that the tire pressure warning came on the first day. Thankfully we ran into a kind stranger on the road who had their own inflator and helped us out. The tire didn’t seem punctured, but we couldn’t figure out how to reset the TPMS, so we stayed a bit on edge during the trip and kept checking the tire pressure.

We had no trouble finding the Avis office in Bergen, and the staff gave us a really warm welcome. They patiently answered all our questions. The car had a bit over 50,000 km on it, exactly the Toyota RAV4 we’d booked, and it was very clean. Overall, a really good rental experience.

When I dropped off the car, I put the keys in the box by the elevator and somehow they still said I was late. QEEQ customer service tried to talk to the rental company, but they refused to give a full refund, and QEEQ ended up covering the rest themselves. Even with video proof they wouldn’t budge, so try to return the car a bit earlier just to be safe.
